Information about Drug - Valium
Author: argiro.mike
One of the recent problems seen with valium is that it is being sold as an alternative to heroin. Whilst it may be of benefit to have people taking less heroin, switching to this form of medication is not really much better and has the negative aspect of people thinking they are acting in a safer manner. Although both drugs are illegal in the wrong hands and are both potentially dangerous, there is no doubt that there is more of a social stigma surrounding heroin use which means that more people may be keen to try other drugs instead of the main one. This can be dangerous for people who are accustomed to one type of drug, its nature and comedown periods. Mixing drugs can lead to problems and the threat of a narcotic cocktail being created in the body which has a more negative result than a single drug. As valium is taken by people who are nervous or worried, it obviously has a sedative affect on the user. In the right dosage, this can be of great benefit, hopefully allowing people to remain calm and perhaps receive a full night sleep. However, when taking in excessive amounts or perhaps when taken in conjunction with another form of medication, a great number of problems can occur, with serious consequences for any user. Drowsiness is an immediate impact for a user to be aware and if the user has anything to do for the next day or following hours, they may find that they are unable to do so because of the drug they have taken. In greater doses, they may find that taking the drug Valium is enough to place them into a coma, which is clearly a great concern for everyone. It is a drug that is only intended for short term use, which means that anyone taking it for an extended period of time is likely to experience a number of problems. Firstly, the user may find that they have developed a tolerance for this form of medication meaning that they have to take a higher amount in order to receive a hit similar to the first one they received. As the body becomes more used to the medication, it takes greater doses which inevitably increases the risk of a person suffering an overdose. As it is a suppressor of the nerves in the brain, it should also be used with caution for a number of people, particularly those with depression. These people are likely to be already suffering a lack of confidence and feeling low, and the way this drug reacts in the brain is not going to mix well with the person’s natural feelings. These users are in need of support and medical assistance which will improve their mood; which means that a drug like this will only exacerbate their problems and lead to greater difficulties.

How much trouble can a secretary get into if caught calling the pharmacy w/a fake Rx from the Dr’s office?
Is it a felony or a misdemeanor if the secretary at the dr’s office calls in a prescription for narcotics (pain pills, valium, sleeping pills…) to the pharmacy w/o the dr’s knowledge? What are the penalties? What about going across the boarder to get them, are there consequences?
Please get youself (or who ever you are getting these drugs for) some help. It’s not worth ruining a life for.
fioricet and Valium?
I take fioricet (without Codeine) for migraines and other times i have to take Valium to help me sleep. I know that you should never mix narcotics like codeine with Valium but i need to get some sleep and i had to take fioricet a few hours ago to get rid of a head ache. Does anyone know if the two can be taken together considering it is the fioricet without codeine in it?
It’s perfectly fine. Even if it did have codeine in it, which is an opioid, the only reason they tell you not to do that is because it makes you extremely drowsy and it would be dangerous to drive. It won’t make you sick. If anything, it’ll only help you sleep better

who the hell keeps putting thumbs down on these answers, and why? see…. yahoo answers needs to make it a requirement for people to put input as to why they put a thumbs up/down. whos with me im gonna start a new question for that
No acetaminophen is Tylenol…its the generic name
For those telling others to take medication or what ‘mental disorder’ they have…?
Antidepressants have been proven to be ineffective:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7263494.stm
Yet they make 1 in 30 patients attempt suicide. Several families of murder victims were paid to keep quiet:
http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/features/ssri-suicide-akathisia.html
Other drugs are just as bad. People somehow forget that medication is a drug. Ritalin for example is a Class B narcotic. Valium is Class C.
A DSM-IV diagnosis is not a disease. It does not tell you what is wrong with you. It’s just a label for your symptoms.
Some people collect these labels like they collect shoes. But we all have our own unique problems and these labels are useless or worse. You can face your demons but how do you overcome a disorder?
Being a teenager is tough. Drugging yourself or identifying with some diagnosis will probably make life even tougher.
Learning how your mind works won’t just help you solve your problems but it will help you to be happy and successful.
I’ve been a clinical NLP/EFT/hypnotherapist for 11 years. I only get paid when my clients think they’ve got what they want:

Sorry for the rant but the way drugs and diagnoses are promoted on here is dangerous.
What I said about the drugs is a scientific fact. The 1 in 30 suicidality is above and beyond that for placebo. If we forced the drug companies to test the blind and release all their studies, their drugs would perform even worse.
80% of GPs thinking they are handing out too many:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2004/mar/30/drugs.sciencenews
But the point is that 90-100% of you are benefitting from the rather underestimated placebo effect. Any alternative can give that.
Often it is more the therapist than the type of therapy that is important. I’d recommend checking out at least 5 before settling on one. There are a few good psychiatrists out there.
If you’re taking the drugs there’s no benefit in stopping before you’re ready.
OK specific replies…
Chandy: You’re maybe right that SSRIs are better than alcohol etc. There’s no scientific link between serotonin and depression.
frank s: A major side effect of SSRIs is hostility.
la maestra: It’s a bit weird. If you can’t treat your own bi-polar why pretend you can help others. Having said that, the general standard across the mental health field is so low that LMHP might actually be one of the best.
Catrina M: I’d have found school more interesting and bearable with drugs too.
vici: I know how horrible panic attacks are – it’s why I ran an online support group for people with panic disorder for about 8 years. My success rate with curing panic disorder (in person) is around 95% – in about 3 sessions.
Katrina M again: I have this attitude because the drugs don’t work, they literally kill thousands a year and they perpetuate or worsen people’s misery in the majority of cases,
The scientists could only show how ineffective these drugs are after drug companies were forced to release some of their buried results. The world has been duped.
But it’s up to you if you want to ignore science and give your son drugs.
9 months ago my teenage son was diagnosed with clinical depression due to an imbalance of hormones also the loss of two close members of our family, he was at a stage in his life when he had a lot of pressure due to exams, with the help of a fantastic doctor and psychiatrists they were able to get him through a very tough and sad time of his life. many people would be able to cope unfortunately he couldn’t, we owe his life to these doctors and medication as he was on the brink of doing something irreversible, he now is slowly coming off this medication and looking forward to going to a music college,These professionals don’t hand out tablets like sweets and the medication doesn’t make you as high as a kite. they are highly qualified and know who needs these drugs and who doesn’t. The reason that some people has many different types of medication is that it takes a while for the medication to work (up to 6 weeks) and may not suit the individual.
Is valium a narcotic?
So, I have a prescription for valium and I had a prescription for vicoden last month. I no longer have the vicoden but I was wondering if they would both show up in a urine test the same. Wouldn’t they both show up as a narcotic? And if so, is there different types of narcotics on the urine test? Basically, would whoever be giving the test know there was a difference between the vicoden and the valium? I don’t want my work to know I take valium even though it’s prescribed to me just because my job is really stressful and it’s given to me for nerves. We take monthly pee test at my work. They know I was taking the vicoden(I had a kidney stone)and they don’t know that I’m out of vicoden so when the valium shows up I just want to make sure that it will show up the same way a vicoden would. Any help would be great! Thanks!
Valium would show up before Vicodin. Look up drug test or urine tests on wikipedia.
