Diazepam/Valium Question. Experienced people/medical professionals.?
Hi there, I have recently been prescribed 10mg diazepam when I was previously on 5mg for sleep. I understand that there is more of the active ingredient in the larger dose but is there anything else that will happen i.e will I sleep quicker? Is there anything else I should know or anyone elses story they want to tell. I am just interested. I have never had a problem with it.
Valium is a benzodiazepine , which is prescribed for sleep problems. Being a benzodiazepine it is addictive and can be bad once you get off it, and sleep medication is supposed to numb you, making you more comfortable(ie, sleepy). Yes, it will help you get to sleep quicker, and after about 2-3 months of prolonged use of the drug, you will suffer benzo. withdrawls.
I know many people who take this medicine/abuse this drug. Bad things happen to them. A safe alternative to this dangerous drug, is medical Marijuana, prescribed to hundreds of problems. My sources will cite how medical Marijuana helps sleep problems, and how Valium is dangerous and addicting. I will tell you though, Valium is a stronger drug so it will work better, but marijuana is safer.
