Just got my dentures?
I just had all but 2 teeth pulled. 2 n the bottom for the partial. I had them all pulled yesterday..the novacaine and other injections along with the valium and laughng gas werent bad at all..but OMG when I left first of all..blood was pouring from my mouth..I couldnt swallow my own saliva or blood until the numbness wore off. Then after that was the absolute worst..the pain was unbearable.. now its starting to swell..dentist said this is all normal..here are my questions though..
I understand that my gums are still tender underneath.. but I’m trying to adapt to them as quick as possible.. so I made some eggs earlier..I couldnt even chew them correctly..It felt like I was chewing on my inner cheeks..and my mouth isnt even numb..Is it always gonna be like this..when I chew? Or is it just becauses im still sore..or maybe afraid to use full pressure while chomping down..Also how can i reduce my swelling..dentist says salt water rinses..but i need specifics..i know the tanic acid is good.
Sorry for your pain. Don’t be trying to eat solids for a few days, even a week. Drink malts and milk shakes. Buy several and freeze them. Don’t chew. Four times a day, swish-gargle-spit with heavily salted warm water. It will get MUCH better soon.
valium + sedation?

question about arthritis, pregnancy & accutane (NOT THE LAST 2 TOGETHER) serious answers only!?
8 years ago this august i had a terrible car accident that herneated 3 disks in my lower back and neck. this past june 08 i fell and broke my tailbone and have not been the same since. i have been on motrin and hydrocodone since but plateaued around 5 months ago. i was doing accupunture and it worked wondered, too bad insurance doesnt cover it. the specialist i seen lowered my dosage of hydrocodone and gave me some steroid crap that didnt work, now i am taking meloxicam and hydrocodone 5mg and just got a cortisone injection in my lower back/ tailbone last week and am dying!!! i cant sleep and want to cry every time i move. i went for an emg last week but wasnt relaxed enough so i have to take 3 valium and go back next week. i will be calling the doc wed when he is in the office but tomorrow i am going to a new dermotologist to help get my ance to go away. i will be talking to him about this as well but i was just curious advise wise wether i should do it or not because of my current back problems. i figure i am having so many problems now i want to just take all this stuff at once so in a few years when i marry my boyfriend and am ready to have a family this will all be taken care of…..except for the arthritis….what am i supposed to do when im pregnant, will the arthritis ever go away, if not what do they give you?

I totally understand your pain. I knocked 2 disks in my back out of place and will need corrective surgery just to repair it. I was on vicodin (which is hydrocodone, if i’m not mistaken) and morphine. I got pregnant before I could have the surgery done. I am now 9 months pregnant. They put me on ultram for the pain, which is a pain medication but not a narcotic, so it wouldn’t harm the baby. It doesn’t work as well, but it helps me get out of bed in the morning. When and if you become pregnant, I would suggest semi-bedrest (I understand complete bedrest is impossible for a lot of people, because it is for me)during the last 1-2 months of the pregnancy so that way your growing belly doesn’t kill your injured back too much. I wouldn’t worry about taking something for your acne unless it will interfere with the medication for your back. I hope this helps you and gives you some hope.

You can take pain medication when you are pregnant, my dentist prescribed me hydrocodone because he could not put me under to fix my teeth. If you have legitimate pain then you will get pain relief even while pregnant. Chemotherapy patients who get pregnant cannot take the chemo but they are prescribed ocycoton for their pain. If you are willing to try acupuncture you might also try papaya,

I’m not going to lie: insertion is painful, especially if you’ve never had children. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say a 7 or an 8. HOWEVER, it feels just like menstrual cramps, only stronger, and it only lasted about 10 seconds and I would do it again in a heartbeat for the protection and lack of side effects again. Hell, if I had to do it every year, I would do it.
The most painful part, for me, was when they first dilate your cervix to measure how deep it is–I’ve also never had kids, so it does hurt a little bit more since your cervix has never been dilated before, but like I said it’s just like cramping. It’s really quick, the entire insertion took about 3 minutes, and like I said, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. The way they dilate your cervix is by inserting a very thin tube the measure, then they insert the applicator for the Mirena, which is like a super long, super skinny version of a tampon applicator, only sterile and plastic.
Before I got the Mirena, I had tried the injection and tons of pills and they all gave me migraines or made me really moody–the Mirena, though, is super, super, super, super low-dose and more or less localized to your uterus, so the side effects are far, far less. I absolutely love mine. My partner can’t feel the strings at all during sex unless he sticks his fingers in to check for them beforehand, and even then he needs to poke around by my cervix a little bit to find them. He’s pretty well-endowed, and it’s never been an issue for him. For the first month they might be a little pokey, but you can always get them trimmed, and they soften up super, super quickly.
