Stop Smoking Hypnosis

Smoking is one of the worst habits one may have, being addicted to nicotine is pretty much similar to being addicted to cocaine or heroin. Though many medical and scientific associations have underlined the similitudes between tobacco and cocaine no decisive steps have been made. There are many people eager to try such special methods especially if they are easy to implement. Alternative therapy has come up with quit smoking by hypnosis solutions. Stop smoking hypnosis is a recent technique very contested by scientists as most doctors and scientists don't accept the idea of influencing the subconscious. Though quit smoking by hypnosis solutions are controversial there are some people that say they feel better, so based on their declarations this new quit smoking by hypnosis treatment gains more and more favorable opinions.

If you run a simple search you will find a multitude of quit smoking by hypnosis solutions over the Internet. Such quit smoking by hypnosis treatments contain a simple mp3 file that must be recorded on a CD or DVD and played several times. There are many people that buy them and say they feel better. However, at the exact opposite pole, there are others who say they'd rather go to an exorcist than turn to quit smoking by hypnosis. The products are advertised as the extraordinary quit smoking by hypnosis mp3s. Maybe you've seen some shows where people get hypnotized and bark like a dog or any other animal. Those things are real, so be careful to what you listen; I have nothing against those who appeal to such drastic solutions I just say that they don't know to what they expose themselves.

Those who turn to Stop smoking by hypnosis usually have tried other untested methods like yoga or any other alternative therapies, it is true that there is a small percentage of people that have an inclination to mysticism but before contacting some therapists that use quit smoking by hypnosis techniques try to find out the side effects of such a quit smoking by hypnosis treatment. The truth that any medic or scientist can confirm is that we know little or nothing at all about mysticism and what it involves. You can search for opinions on the Internet and you will find that many share my opinion underlying the dangers that can appear if you try quit smoking by hypnosis. However, if you come to work with a true professional, quit smoking by hypnosis may work as it is said to eliminate the desire to smoke from the most inner levels of the subconscious.

How to Not Gain Weight When you Quit Smoking : the Nicotine/blood Sugar Connection

Author: Todd Stofka

The negative impacts of smoking on our health are well documented and range from premature aging to death from heart and lung disease. Our society is more educated on the dangers of smoking than ever before, and yet, many of us still won't even try to quit. One of the most common reasons for this is the fear of possible weight gain.

Understanding the physiological progression of smoking in the human body can go a long way to helping you understand how to win the nicotine battle without losing the war on weight. Many smokers believe that they have an "addictive personality"--what they actually have is a ride on the blood glucose roller coaster.

When you begin the process of quitting, you experience what many perceive to be physical and psychological cravings for the now missing nicotine. Most of these so called cravings relate to effects of nicotine on the body, and although nicotine itself is removed from your bloodstream within the first few days after you stop smoking, the physical cravings can still be triggered, and are still mentally associated to specific tactile feelings that you experienced as a smoker, and they relate to blood glucose levels.

Within three to seven minutes from the time you light a cigarette, nicotine begins to enter your liver. The liver is your body's glucose storage facility, and its job is to protect this glucose (fuel) for you body. When nicotine reaches your liver, the liver protects its precious cargo (fuel) by releasing the stored glucose into the blood stream. This increase in blood sugar causes you to feel good, and have more energy because you're getting what we call a "sugar rush." However, any time your blood glucose levels raise quickly, your pancreas responds by sending insulin in to "control" the excess sugar. Insulin then does its job by presenting more glucose to the cells to be burned for fuel and converting glucose that isn't presently being burned into fat. This causes your blood glucose levels to drop quickly leaving you feeling tired, anxious, an often hungry.

Having a cigarette placates this feeling and starts this cycle all over again and is why most smokers smoke twenty to forty cigarettes daily. Candy, gum, mints, soda, or any form of sugar will also placate these feelings, but just like the cigarette itself, the behavior creates the same response from insulin causing yet another craving and the cycle continues in this fashion ad infinitum. Add to this the fact that nicotine is a stimulant that increases an average smokers resting metabolic rate approximately equal to five hundred calories daily, and you have a formula that will cause massive weight gain, and weight gain is one of the primary reasons that people return to smoking. This is referred to as an anchored response: the feelings of the blood sugar ups-and-downs connected to the act of smoking which offers "relief".

With the awareness that you need to either reduce your caloric input by 500 calories a day for the first few weeks after quitting, or increase your output by the same amount, smokers are able to face this demon head-on.

Food: For the first three weeks you need to eat 3 to 4 protein-based meals and small snacks in between these meals, and these meals and snacks need to be protein based. Protein and complex carbohydrates will help to maintain a "stable" blood sugar level. Stable blood sugar means fewer ups and downs that trigger the response. Breakfast is a must! When you skip breakfast your blood sugar starts to DIVE within about 2 to 3 hours. At this point just about anything you eat causes a rapid rise in blood sugar and the cycle of ups and down begins again. Additionally, smokers should eliminate refined products and sugars including artificial sweeteners--these all contribute to the addictive cycle.

Supplements. A good quality chromium product taken 3 times a day will help maintain stable blood sugar. (Good chromium is anything that isn't Picolinate based) Chromium glycinate, polly-nicotinate, and de-nicotinate are all considered effective. An easy way to find good chromium is to look for "chromate" as a trade mark on the label.

For those smokers that can't or won't stay away from sugar and refined foods, any of the over the counter "carb blockers" will lessen the impact of blood glucose and help keep the physical responses to a minimum.

Knowing how to recognize, and deal with these addictive symptoms
can often give soon-to-be reformed smokers a greater sense of power over conquering the smoking habit once and for all.

Our Hypnosis Smoking Cessation program is designed to eliminate the withdrawal cravings that are experienced when quitting cold turkey. Instead, we instill several new habits such as; to drink more water, eat a healthy diet and incorporate a moderate exercise program.

Hypnosis Smoking Does It Work

Does Hypnosis Work? - Read ...

How Does Hypnosis Work - Quit Smoking

Author: Suzie Smith

Lets look at how you may be able to stop smoking using hypnosis. You can consult a quit smoking hypnotist, it would be best, however, to choose a licensed therapist that treats a variety of conditions, rather than just a hypnotist that states they can help you quit smoking after just one session. So, how does hypnosis work with quitting smoking.

Every smoker knows that it's bad for their health, but many smokers continue the habit for decades. Each year they experience a decline in their health. But why do people take up the habit and why do they find it hard to quit?

Lets look at it rationally. Smoking is a strange behaviour. Smoking is disgusting. Smoking stains your teeth and fingers. Smoking causes bad breath. Smoking creates an unpleasant environment for non-smokers. Most start smoking when they are teenagers because they need to be one of the 'crowd' and they want to be cool. If their friends smoke there's a lot of pressure to take up the habit. Other people turn to smoking because they are looking for a way to relieve stress. Even though tobacco does provide short-term relief, it is a contributing factor to stress in the long run.

Most smokers come to a time in their life where they want to quit. Perhaps their health problems have increased and they finally realise they have to give up their habit. Unfortunately, the addictive nature of tobacco has taken hold and makes it difficult.

How does hypnosis work? Lets look at why hypnosis is a viable option to achieve your goal. In a hypnotic state the emphasis is laid on the psychological healing rather than the physical, to change the persons habit or a behavior. During the time you are in a state of trance you will not appear to be aware of what is being said to you, although, contrary to popular beliefs, you will be conscious throughout. When in a hypnotic state it is your subconscious mind that takes over, this is the part of your brain that stores your memories. The hypnotherapist will talk to your subconscious mind about the benefits to you of not smoking, they will put thoughts into you subconscious like; My thoughts are my own. I am free to do what I want, when I want and go where I want, with no thoughts of smoking cigarettes coming into my mind. Your conscious mind will be conditioned to want to stay away from cigarettes, and there will be no withdrawal symptoms. Now you can feel the freedom without tobacco, how great It is to feel cigarettes no longer have that power over you. You want to stay here in this moment of no smoking for ever, and when you come back from your hypnotic state these thoughts will have been automatically accepted by your conscious mind and you will have no tobacco cravings.

If you choose hypnosis to help you quit smoking you should feel more relaxed and in control. Your intention to quit should still be clear in your mind. Your subconscious mind will kick in and help you to ignore the urge to “light up”. If you choose to quit smoking using hypnosis, you will avoid becoming dependent on nicotine replacement therapy and also avoid the side effects associated with prescription drugs.

Smokers who have tried any of the aids to quit smoking and have found them unsuccessful, or who do not want to go for nicotine replacement therapy (some people find they cannot wear the patches or use the gum) then quit smoking hypnosis seminars can be an attractive option. However, there is a chance that the group hypnosis seminar may not work for some of you. This is because the depth of hypnosis varies from person to person, and the motivation for quitting also differs, everybody is different after all. Hypnosis requires absolute quiet with no distractions. If you are in a room full of other people you may be distracted by small noises which in turn, may make your concentration stray. A better option would be a one to one hypnotherapy session.

Self-hypnosis is good option, the recordings provided in self-hypnosis programs do the same job that a hypnotist’s voice would, they improve your ability to focus. Of course, this is done in the comfort of your own home, at a time that suits you. What could be better? It works for most people. And of course you can have as many sessions as you like and as often as you need, and at no extra cost.

Hypnosis can be effective in other areas too, such as stress management, sexual difficulties, eating disorders, obesity, anger management and shyness. Hypnosis is also used for managing pain. It is especially useful for conditions like inflammatory bowel disease that do not respond well to prescription drugs.

Now looking back, I remember how easy it was for me to quit smoking, I was amazed when I realized that I stopped having a craving for cigarettes and that I never gave smoking another thought.

The bottom line is hypnosis works! Isn’t it time to find out more information about how you can improve your own life? Don't you owe it to yourself?

Fear of Failure in Hypnosis Weight loss and Smoking cessation

Author: Margaret Butler

When you go to a hypnotist to stop smoking or to lose weight, often you are confronted with fears regarding your success and its effectiveness for you. You have perhaps tried many methods and have learned a lot about yourself. This article will discuss some of these fears and how to overcome them to promote a successful experience with hypnotherapy.

First of all, it is natural to fear failure. You have been conditioned that way because of the many negative experiences in the past. You have always wanted to quit smoking or to lose weight, but your attempts have led you down a dark alley of failure. You can overcome this fear by repeating to yourself that every so-called failure has in reality been a pillar of your present success. You are molding your success by learning from past failures. Don’t be afraid to interview your hypnotherapist. A good relationship that fosters good communication and a positive working rapport will greatly contribute to your success. If you feel confident and like the therapist, you will find it is easy to succeed.

Next, you will build positive beliefs which support a new image of you as a successful quitter or a successful loser of weight. You build these beliefs in hypnosis until both your body and mind support your decision to succeed. You have unlimited potential. Inside the acorn is the mighty oak tree. Inside of you is a mighty success. When the acorn is planted and nurtured, it produces the mighty oak. When your success thoughts are nurtured, they produce success beliefs and eventually your new success reality.

You can change your life by changing your beliefs. Old beliefs served you well in the past. Now it is time to shed these beliefs and welcome a new day of success.

I had a client who believed that she was doomed to fail. She believed that she had failed in every aspect of her life. When I pointed out to her that she has three beautiful children and a husband who loves her, she began to develop the thought that she was a success in some areas of her life. She lost the weight because the seed thoughts were nurtured into her success beliefs.

You will have to work. There is no easy road to success. Old beliefs do not go away instantly, but with persistence, you can change your life for the better.

Quit Smoking Techniques - 7 Steps With Creative Visualization

Author: Darren Hiller

One of the first techniques that I recommend to my client's who want to quit smoking, is to begin visualizing themselves as a non-smoker. Creative Visualization is a technique where you imagine or think about yourself as you want to be. It's like replaying a mental movie about you successfully achieving your goal. Using the power of Creative Visualization will help mentally prepare you to become a non-smoker.

Creative Visualization steps:

1. Center yourself

With your eyes closed, take a moment to center yourself by taking a few deep breaths while becoming aware of your surroundings (What are you sitting or standing on? What color is it? How is your body touching the earth? Can you feel your heartbeat? What sounds can you hear?).

2. Start visualizing

Think about where you are at this moment. This is where you will begin your one minute visualization. (How much are you smoking per day? How confident and motivated are you?).

3. Enjoy a benefit

Quickly move past your quit date, and create a mental picture of a moment in your first days/weeks as a non-smoker enjoying one of the ways you are going to benefit. (If being healthier is one of your benefits, you can imagine what it's going to be like to breath fresh air into your lungs).

4. Bring in details

Enhance your visualization by bringing in more details into your mental movie. (Where are you? What are you doing? What are you wearing? Notice your surroundings, Who else is there?).

5. Bring in all your senses

Bring all your senses into your visualization.(What else do you see in the scene? What sounds do you hear? What emotions are you feeling? What do you smell and taste?).

6. Positive affirmations

Give yourself positive affirmations throughout your visualization. (I am a calm, healthy, and happy non-smoker).

7. Visualize each day

Repeat your one minute visualizations at least two times each day. Visualize yourself in different situations enjoying one or multiple benefits at the same time, always imagining yourself how you would like to be as a non-smoker. You may visualize yourself as if you were watching yourself on a movie screen or from the perspective of looking out of your own eyes. The ideal time to begin visualizing is as soon as you think you want to quit smoking.

10 Powerful Hints To Stop Smoking - Quit For Good

Author: Jane Olsson

Whether you are using Nicotine Replacement Therapy, Hypnosis or just Cold Turkey, these strategies and hints for aiding you in stopping smoking are sure to assist. It is up to you to ensure that you do these things to really enhance what you are doing, the more effort you put into these exercises, the easier it is to stop smoking for good.

Powerful Hint 1.

Being a smoker is like cycling with stabilisers attached to the wheels, you can find it hard to be balanced without smoking. Now, when you cycle freely again, the natural balance returns.

When people smoke, more than half of what they breathe is fresh air - pulled through the cigarette right down into the lungs. So if you feel any cravings you can instantly overcome them by taking three deeper breaths. Imagine breathing from that space just below your belly button. Whenever you do this you put more oxygen into your bloodstream. This means you can use deep breaths to change the way you feel instantly and give you power over the way you feel and help you let go of those old cravings and thus making it easier to stop smoking.

Powerful Hint 2

Next, think now of all the reasons you don't like smoking, the reasons that it's bad and the reasons you want to stop smoking. Write down the key words on a piece of paper. For example, you experience breathlessness, it's dirty, filthy and your clothes smell, your friends and family are concerned and it's expensive, unsociable and so on. Then, on the other side of the paper, write down all the reasons why you'll feel good when you've succeeded in stopping. You'll feel healthier, you'll feel in control of your self, your senses are enhanced, your hair and clothes will smell fresher and so on. Whenever you need to, look at that piece of paper.

Powerful Hint 3

Next, we are going to programme your mind to feel disgusted by cigarettes. I want you recall 4 times when you thought to yourself "I've gotta quit", or that you felt disgusted about smoking. Maybe you just felt really unhealthy, or your doctor told you in a particular tone of voice 'You've got to quit' or somebody you know was badly affected by smoking. Take a moment now to come up with 4 different times that you felt that you have to quit or were disgusted by smoking.

Remember each of those times, one after another, as though they are happening now. I want you to keep going through those memories and make them as vivid as possible. The more vivid you make those memories, the easier it will be to stop smoking. See what you saw, hear what you heard and feel how you felt. I want you to take a few minutes now to keep going through those memories again and again, overlap each memory with the next until you are totally and utterly disgusted by cigarettes.

Powerful Hint 4

Have a think to yourself about the consequences of you not stopping smoking now, if you just carry on and on. Imagine it, what will happen if you carry on smoking. What are the consequences? Imagine yourself in 6 months time, a years time, even 5 years time if you do not stop smoking now. Think of all the detrimental effects of not stopping right now and how a simple decision you make today can make such an impact on your future.

Next, imagine how much better is your life going to be when you stop smoking. Really imagine it's months from now and you successfully stopped. Smoking is a thing of the past, something you used to do. Keep that feeling with you and imagine having it tomorrow, and for the rest of next week. In your mind, imagine stepping in to that non-smoking version of you and feel how it feels to be a non-smoker.

Powerful Hint 5

Also, your mind is very sensitive to associations, so it's very important that you have a clear out and remove all tobacco products from your environment. Move some of the furniture in your house and at work. Smokers are accustomed to smoking in certain situations. So, for example, if you used to smoke on the telephone at work move the phone to the other side of the desk. Throw away ashtrays, old lighters and anything that you used to associate with smoking. Make your environment conducive to stopping smoking.

Powerful Hint 6

Smokers sometimes use their habit to give themselves little breaks during the day. Taking a break is good for you, so carry on taking that time off - but do something different. Walk round the block, have a cup of tea or drink of water, or do some of the techniques on this programme. In fact, if possible drink a lot of fruit juice. When you stop smoking the body goes through a big change. The blood sugar levels tend to fall, the digestion is slowed down and your body starts to eject the tar and poisons that have accumulated. Fresh fruit juice contains fructose which restores your blood sugar levels, vitamin C which helps clear out impurities and high levels of water and fibre to keep your digestion going. Also try to eat fruit every day for at least two weeks after you have stopped.

Also when you stop, cut your caffeine intake by half. Nicotine breaks down caffeine so without nicotine a little coffee will have a big effect. Drink 8-10 glasses of water (ideally bottled) to help wash out your system.

Powerful Hint 7

You were used to using cigarettes to signal to your body to release happy chemicals, so next we are going to programme some good feelings into your future. Allow yourself to fully remember now a time when you felt very deep ecstasy, pleasure or bliss, right now. Take a moment to recall it as vividly as possible. Remember that time - see what you saw, hear what you heard and feel how good you felt. Where abouts in your body were those feelings, imagine turning them up and spreading them through your body to make them more intense.

Keep going through the memory, as soon as it finishes, go through it again and again, all the time squeezing your thumb and finger together. In your mind, make those images big and bright, sounds loud and harmonious and feelings strong and intensified. We are making an associational link between the squeeze of your fingers and that good feeling.

Okay, stop and relax. Now if you have done that correctly when you squeeze your thumb and finger together you should feel that good feeling again. Go ahead do that now, squeeze thumb and finger and remember that good feeling.

Now we're going to programe good feelings to happen automatically whenever you are in a situation where you used to smoke but now you stop smoking.

So, next I'd like you to squeeze your thumb and finger together, get that good feeling going and now imagine being in several situations where you would have smoked, but being there feeling great without a cigarette. See what you'll see hear and take that good feeling into those situations without a need for a cigarette.

Imagine being in a situation where someone offers you a cigarette and you confidently say 'No thanks, I don't smoke'. And feel fantastic about it!

Powerful Hint 8

Get social support. Your commitment to stopping smoking for the rest of your life can be made much easier by talking about it to friends and family and letting them support you. They will congratulate you on doing so well too! You really did stop smoking.

Powerful Hint 9

Be aware of making excuses for yourself. Some people talk themselves into smoking, especially if they encounter a stressful situation and in the past they used to deal with it by smoking. If those old thoughts pop into your head, shout the word "STOP" in your head, to stop the thoughts from progressing. Nicotine just stresses your body more and is like that itch that can never be properly scratched; the more you smoke, the more you have to. So say "STOP" and steer clear of old slippery slopes.

Reward yourself. Congratulate yourself. Treat yourself each time you get past a certain milestone; the first week or first month, the six month target. Let yourself know that you did something really special here.

Keep on using your brain, stretching it and helping your self, by running through these exercises time after time; you are sure to be able to make it easier and easier and successfully stop smoking for good.

If You Want to Quit Smoking, Hypnosis is the Healthiest Method

Author: Joanne Fallwater

Are you concerned about your health? If you want to quit smoking, hypnosis is the healthiest method. Just think about it for a minute. A quit smoking hypnosis program will teach your healthy habits that you can use for life. But quit smoking drugs have potentially dangerous side effects.

But just as dangerous can side effects be? After all, a lot of the drugs have to be prescribed by a doctor. Doesn't a doctor's supervision automatically make taking drugs to quit smoking safe? And aren't they worth it if the end result is that you don't smoke anymore?

First, you have to understand that all drugs have side effects. And some of them are more serious than others. You're already addicted to nicotine, which is a heavy-duty poison. Did you know nicotine has been used for centuries as an insecticide to kill insects?

Well, when you use a nicotine patch or nasal sprays that are compounded with nicotine, you're still delivering that poison into your system. True, you're getting doses small enough that they won't kill you as long as you follow the directions carefully.

But a long-time smoking habit isn't just about the physical addiction to nicotine. People who have smoked for a number of years to develop "smoking rituals". Those are the small actions that get repeated every time you smoke.

They are small things, like the way you hold your hand when you smoke your cigarette. Do you hold your cigarette between your index and middle fingers? Or do you like to hold it between your thumb and index finger?

You keep your lighter in your pants pocket? How many times a day do you reach for your lighter? Do you think it's a coincidence that when you reach for your keys in your pocket, you suddenly crave a cigarette?

It's no coincidence. Putting your hand in your pocket has become part of a "smoking ritual" that triggers your urge to smoke. Even if you just finished smoking a cigarette a few minutes ago, when you put your hand in your pocket again, you'll think about having a cigarette.

That's where the nicotine replacement drugs, like the patch and the nasal sprays and inhalers, can become dangerous. They take care of the physical cravings, but they don't address the smoking rituals. So a lot of people end up using the quit smoking drugs, smoking their cigarettes or cigars on top of it.

That puts them in danger of having a nicotine overdose. Just because you don't drop dead on the spot from smoking a cigarette or cigar, doesn't mean that you can't overdose on nicotine. You can. Not only can an overdose of nicotine make you violently ill, it can kill you on the spot. Like a dead bug hit with insecticide.

And what about the quit smoking pills? You can't get them without a prescription, so you would think that they would be safe. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Even under a doctor's supervision, some of the drugs themselves are just not safe.

If you take the time to read the list of potential side effects that these drugs can cause, it will make you think twice about taking them. You want to quit smoking because you want to be healthy. But do you really want to risk damage to your heart, liver, kidney and other internal organs while you're in the process of quitting smoking?

There are other safer methods to quit smoking that don't have any kind of physical health risk at all. No, you don't have to quit smoking cold turkey. Hypnosis has the best long-term success rate of any of the methods that people use to quit smoking. And the side effects of using hypnosis, long term are actually good for you.

A good hypnosis program will give you tools to help ease the nicotine cravings. You'll also learn ways to deactivate those "smoking ritual" triggers. And that's really important for long-term success.
