How To Quit Smoking For Free

Author: Jason Markum

When I was younger I used to smoke at least two packs of cigarettes every day.  And I smoked a pipe too.  I loved that pipe!

But then I decided to quit.  I tried several times but it never lasted more than a week or so. Once I made it up to ten days, but I had the flu at the time so it doesn't really count I guess.

But all those times I tried to quit, I had no plan.  I just stopped smoking cold turkey.  That's why I failed!

I finally developed a plan, a method, and when I did, it worked and I never smoked again.  It's been eleven years and I haven't had a single cigarette in all that time.  Not one.

After that I taught my method for quitting to all my friends and every single one of them quit.

So now I will teach my method to you.

You need a few things.  First, you need to pitchers.  Regular pitchers will do, any time or shape though the bigger the better.  You are going to fill the pitchers full of water and keep them in your fridge.

Next you will need a big cup.  The biggest you can find.  I used one of those thirty two ounce cups that you get from McDonalds when you order an extra large soda.  It doesn't matter, as long as it's very big.

Finally you need some sort of food that looks like a cigarette.  I used Twizzlers, but anything will do.  Pretzel rods might work fine...something like that.

The idea is that you need something that you can hold like a cigarette, that you can chew on to give your mouth and hands something to do during the day since you are used to holding cigarettes all day.

Twizzlers are good because they are chewy and thus keep your mouth busy.  Sure, I gained a few pounds but it was worth it.  I bought twizzlers in one pound bag form cuz they are cheaper that way and you will go through at least a bag or two a day for the first few days.

So here's the main part of my method.  The water.  The reason why it's so hard to quit smoking is because you have all that built up nicotine in your body. I think it's in your blood stream or something.  Whatever.  You need to flush it out, and the quicker the better.

So whenever you have a major craving and the twizzlers just aint cutting it, go to the fridge, take out a pitcher, fill your 32 ounce glass FULL, and drink it RIGHT THERE.  Don't leave until you've drank every drop.

Next, put down the cup and REFILL the pitcher.  32 ounces is a lot, and it will take a minute or so to refill it at the faucet.

Next, put the pitcher in the back of the fridge, and move the OTHER pitcher to the front.  Why?  Because in half an hour or so you are gonna have another craving and the pitcher you just refilled won't be cold yet.

That's it.  That's the method!  The ritual of getting and drinking the water lasts JUST long enough that your mind will be focused on IT, and not your craving.  After you've drank the water, your mind will have moved on to another thing, and you will be able to cope without having a smoke.

In the mean time, if you do this six or ten times a day, all that water really flushes out your system in a hurry!

In a week, my body was really flushed out of all that nicotine.  In two weeks, I pretty much stopped having massive cravings all day long.  In a month they stopped all together except for the occasional one here or there.  After three months I was done for good.

Try it, you won't be out anything if you do!

The Only Stop Smoking Tips You Will Ever Need!

Author: Darren O'Connell

Rather than list out a few stop smoking tips, this article will try to lay out a plan that will make your attempt at quitting a success.  Remember that everyone is different but these stop smoking tips should apply to the vast majority of readers.
1-    Set A Firm Quit Date:  Pick a date that is at least a week away as your quit date.  Why a week?  Because you need time to prepare. You also need time to psych yourself up.
2-    Write down the reasons you want to stop smoking: This may sound cheesy but it is a very powerful technique.  It will help cement your desires as well as help you visualize the new, smoke-free you.  Read the reasons at least once a day, before going to bed.
3-    Talk to Friends and family:  get a support group that will help you through tough times and also hold you accountable.
4-    Clean House:  Spend a few days getting rid of all things related to smoking.  Clean out your car, empty out the ashtray and wash it out.  Get rid of the lighters (you know you have a bunch of them) that are hiding everywhere in the house, and at work.  The night before your quit date, clean out the house.  No ashtrays, no cigarettes, no buttcan outside in the yard…..Nothing
5-    Quit:  its quitting time!  This is the beginning of your life without cigarettes.  Hang on because it may be a bumpy ride for the next few days.
6-    Exercise:  Get some form of exercise each day if you can.  This is paramount to your success.  Nicotine was providing your body with Dopamine every few hours.  Now that you no longer smoke, your body is craving it.  Exercise is an excellent way to stimulate Dopamine production to satisfy this craving.  This is one of the most powerful stop smoking tips that you will find.
7-    Drink water:  Start to eliminate the toxins that smoking put into your body.  Years of smoking have polluted your organs and hampered your body functions.  Flush them out ASAP.
8-    Eat More:  No, not junk food and candy to satisfy every craving.  Without nicotine, your metabolism will drop.  Make sure you have at least 5 healthy little meals throughout the day.
9-    Take it one day at a time:  Another of the crucial stop smoking tips. Bite sized goals are easier to achieve and provide rewards more quickly.  Your craving and withdrawal symptoms will peak at around 72 hours.  After that, they should start to diminish.  Keep in mind that all you have to do is outlast each craving.  The good news is that a craving lasts around 5 minutes.
10-    Remember that note you wrote in step 2? read it again, and again.  Keep focused on your original reasons for wanting to quit.  They were important to you then, and they are still important to you now.
These stop smoking tips are effective if they are followed closely.  Having said that, your success will depend in great part on the severity of your addiction and on your level of commitment.  Get ready for a tough fight and you will win out in the end.  After all, thousands have successfully quit smoking using these very same stop smoking tips.  Good luck

Methods To Quit Smoking - On How To Quit Smoking

Author: Ben Johnson

I had a friend who suffered from smoking addiction. My friend wanted to stop but could not. He turned to me and asked me "How to quit smoking?" and "Do you know some methods to quit smoking?" We did have several discussions and we agreed that how bad smoking can really affect ones health.

Here are some of the facts

Did you know that .... according to the statistics provided by the American Heart Association...

In the United States, an estimated 24.8 million men (23.1 percent) and 21.1 million women (18.3 percent) are smokers. These people are at higher risk of heart attack and stroke. The latest estimates for persons age 18 and older show...* Among whites, 23.5 percent of men and 20.6 percent of women smoke (2008). Among blacks, 25.6 percent of men and 17.8 percent of women smoke. Among Hispanics, 20.7 percent of men and 10.7 percent of women smoke. 9.9 percent of Asian adults smoke. 24.3 percent of American Indian/Alaska Native adults smoke. * National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), 2008, National Center for Health Statistics

That's so scary information considering that millions are at risk of heart diseases and stroke. It is a known fact that smoking addiction is really hard to quit. It would take considerable time and effort to break away from the bad addiction. Others would go through mental anguish and psychological stress before they finally reach themselves in the position to quit the habit and continue on to the new chapters on their lives.

Let me ask you, do you want to break free from smoking so you won't die early? That is true, your lungs and your heart are now breaking down and are slowly dying. Or do you have friends who you want to help quit smoking?

If you look at the internet nowadays, there have been so many ways - hypnotism is one - to break free from smoking addiction. My dear old friend with the research we found out was able to find something that really worked for him. He is now slowly getting rid of the smoking residue in his body and has started to change his life onwards to a healthy lifestyle to become happier with his family.

I am going to share this to you, hoping I could help you and you can also help some friends who want to start anew.

My friend had gone through 4 methods to quitting the smoking addiction. Here is what she had done

1) Meditated and realized that smoking kills and one wouldn't be able to see their love ones grow old with them.

 2) Upon realization, and after knowing that smoking can also be a bad example to one's children, made a strong conviction that he should quit smoking to save himself and the people he loves.

3) Knowing that quitting is not an overnight process, he decided to slowly eliminate one cigarette stick one day for one week, then two sticks for two weeks, then three for three weeks until 4 in one month. After which, he was able to limit his cigarette consumption after two months of slow elimination to one stick per 4 days so making consumption of 6 sticks a month. That's quite an achievement.

4) At least he was able to made developments but he felt that he needed more help, so he made some research on the internet and found a website that could help him the professional way and it really did.

Why it is not as Difficult to Stop Smoking as You Think it is

Author: Mike Row

Copyright (c) 2008 Mike Row

If you have ever had the idea that you wanted to stop smoking, chances are you had all kinds of people tell you how hard it is. But the simple fact of the matter is that giving up smoking is not nearly as difficult as living with a cigarette constantly thrust between your lips. By smoking, you alienate yourself from others, you cost yourself and your family thousands of dollars a year on a useless product, and you constantly damage your health with every puff. Quitting the habit is not easy, but it is not very difficult either--especially when you have friends, family, and various natural anti-smoking products at your side to help you along.

A few decades ago, the only way to quit was to go cold turkey. One day, you tell yourself you're not going to smoke anymore, and so you don't. Now that was a hard way to give up a highly addictive habit like smoking. But it worked for many people. Mind over matter as they say.

The problem is that nobody is willing to endure any amount of discomfort that people even thirty years ago had no issues with. Quitting cold turkey was effective for many people, but it came with a variety of problems. Some people were more susceptible to returning to smoking somewhere down the road--but yet more people had problems where they could never get through a couple of days without their nicotine fix. For that simple reason, quitting cold turkey is rarely advised anymore. People these days just aren't willing to do anything that may make them feel uncomfortable.

However, the best thing about cold turkey is that it is really the only way to stop smoking where there is any amount of discomfort involved. There are lots of better ways to stop smoking now where you don't have to worry about any headaches, weight gain, or other side effects that usually come from getting off of nicotine packed cigarettes.

But if there aren't any major side effects to giving up the habit, why do people still claim that it is really tough to quit smoking? Part of the reason is that they like smoking--but the people they are with don't. After all, smoking tends to come along with a type of oral fixation where you always have to have an object in your mouth. Like sucking your thumb when you were a child, you grow accustomed to having a cigarette hanging out from your lips. And breaking that habit is more difficult for some people than actually getting down off the nicotine.

Furthermore, because most people quit at the whim of their spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, parents, or other person who holds some significance in their life, quitting becomes difficult because the smoker didn't really want to quit at all. They were just fine with their smoking habit. They enjoyed it. And by trying to quit when you don't really want to, it creates a whole world of problems because you end up not channeling as much energy into it as you should.

So what is the secret to successfully stop smoking without having to deal with any of the negative side effects? First, you have to want to quit yourself. Second, you have to have the support of those around you. It can be extremely difficult to quit when many other people are still smoking near you. And third, you need to use some kind of natural anti-smoking assistant that can help you deal with your addiction as though it was never there to begin with.

Why Should I Take Ciga Cease ...

Smoking Does Effect You in Many Ways

Author: Vince Robertson

Smoking has became one of the largest business in the world today.Smoking has also became one of the largest health care expenses of our time.Cigarettes have a chemical called nicotine that is highly addictive. There are also many other chemicals in cigarettes that are
very harmful to the body. The nicotine in cigarettes is habit forming and becomes very hard to quit.People get addicted to nicotine just like any other drug. This is a physical and mental condition which causes withdrawal symptoms. When smokers try to quit they experience these symptoms. This is the main reason most people fail when trying to quit smoking.

Withdrawal symptoms happen to most people who go through the process of quitting.Even though they may be short lived, they can be rather intense and can sometimes become too much for the person to bare.If you can make it through the first two weeks your ability to
quit greatly increases.Once you make it pass this point most withdrawal symptoms disappear.

There are two different types of withdrawal symptoms:physical and mental. In the first two weeks physical symptoms can be hot flashes, sweating, and cold sweats. You can also start getting stomach cramps as well as feelings of being nauseous and there are also some people who experience more headaches and migraines.Once you quit smoking you might potentially experience flu symptoms or symptoms similar to that of a cold. These could include sore throats, problems with your sinuses,a bit of coughing as well as other symptoms associated with the flu. All these symptoms are just the body adjusting to no nicotine.

You may start to feel emotional symptoms. This includes becoming more prone to throwing tantrums which can happen at any time. You can also feel very irritable, experience very intense feeling such as anger. You are more likely to get things mixed up and confused, due to the fact that you can not concentrate, because of all the emotions that your body is going through. You will probably become very anxious over nothing.Becoming depressed is very likely during this  time of stress.

The good news is that after two or three weeks all these symptoms start to gradually go away.If you are having a difficult time with this, you may need to try stop smoking with hypnosis remedies.

People have found out that working on the mental side is a great benefit to help quit smoking. The mind is what tells you that this is not working and convinces you that you'll be better off to just smokeinstead of trying to quit.Don't give into these thoughts, because if
you've made it two weeks, you've made it through the hardest part, and it only gets easier from here. Before you give in and start back, look at what "Smoking Effects"does to the body. Good Luck!

How to Cure a Smokers Cough and Clean Your Lungs

Author: Jo Mark

Do you have a smoker’s cough that won’t go away? Have you been smoking for 5, 10, or 20 years and find it impossible to quit? Do you find it difficult to take a deep breath? If so, these are a serious signs. But have no fear; in this article you will discover how to cure these nagging problems easily and painlessly, in the comfort of your home.

Human lungs are very delicate organs. And if you’ve been smoking for a period of years, you are doing damage to your lungs every day. If you’ve done everything possible to kick the smoking habit without success, and you have a nagging smoker’s cough, you need to clean out your lungs.

Your lungs are covered with very delicate thin hair like cleaners, called cilia.  Over a period of years, smoking damages the cilia. In a smoker's lungs, there are fewer cilia and those remaining cannot clean out the lungs efficiently. As a result, your airways get clogged and you start coughing. As you get older, so do your lungs, but the aging process is a lot quicker in people who smoke than in people who have clean lungs. Smokers are also more susceptible to various lung diseases than non-smokers because your lungs' defense mechanisms are not working properly.

So, what can you do if you’ve been smoking for years, have a nagging smoker’s cough, and have tried everything to quit without success? There is an alternative available to you. It is a system that can clean out your lungs after years of smoking. It is called a lung detox. But don’t worry; it is not something that needs to be done by a doctor or in a hospital. You can clean out your lungs painlessly, and effortlessly in the comfort of your own home.

The clean your lungs system is a secret combination of the secret food supplements, vitamins, and exercise that rinses the toxins out of your lungs in less than 1 year! You heard right, this process can completely clean your lungs in less than a year and help you get rid of that nagging smoker’s cough.

So, do you have a smoker’s cough that just won’t go away? Have you been smoking for 5, 10, or 20 years and find it impossible to quit? Do you find it difficult to take a deep breath? If so, these are a serious signs that you may need a lung detox to get your lungs back in good health. For a great, inexpensive lung detox program that you can do in the comfort of your own home without a doctor’s supervision, use this easy, painless solution and Clean Your Lungs. Make it Easy For Yourself to Quit Smoking - Hypnosis Taps the Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Author: Cherie Cann

Do you really want to make it easy for yourself to quit smoking? Hypnosis can tap into the power of your subconscious mind to cure your cravings. In order to help you quit smoking, hypnosis helps you turn negative habits into positive, healthy behaviors. So just how does it work?

Think about how you automatically drive a car. If you have been driving for any number of years, we've practiced every small action that goes into driving a car thousands of times. In fact, you've practiced them so many times that they have become automatic.

That's why sometimes, when you're preoccupied with something else, you can arrive at your destination and not remember driving there. You drove on autopilot, because you've done it so many times that your subconscious was able to take over for you.

You've created your habit of autopilot smoking the same way you've created your pattern of autopilot driving. You've smoked so many times, in so many situations, that most of the time you reach for your cigarettes and lighter without even thinking about it. You have actually trained your subconscious mind to make you smoke on autopilot. Your subconscious is performing the actions that it has been trained to do. But the actions are killing you.

The good news is, you weren't born with a cigarette in your mouth. As a child, and maybe even as a young adult, you spent several years of your life as a non-smoker. That means your subconscious mind has a solid memory of "not smoking". That's really good news.

Even though you smoke on autopilot right now, you also know how to "not smoke". You have direct experience being a non-smoker. So you don't really have to learn a new behavior. You just have to unlearn a more recent (and deadly) behavior. And that's what hypnosis can help you do.

Hypnosis can help your subconscious mind connect with your earlier experiences of "not smoking". And it can help you practice being a non-smoker... over and over again. A good quit smoking hypnosis program helps you reconnect with the automatic part of your brain that knows how to "not smoke".

Yes, it sounds kind of strange at first. But if you think about it for a moment, it makes a lot of sense. Connecting with that part of your brain that knows how to "not smoke" is especially powerful if you really want to stop smoking. Your strong desire to quit will act like fuel to ignite your motivation.

Many people have success the first time they use a quit smoking hypnosis program. But a lot of people have to try a second, third, or fourth time (or more) before they quit smoking for good. If you're one of the people that has try to stop more than once, don't be hard on yourself. Everyone's situation is different.

Some people are lucky enough to start their quit smoking program during a calm time in their lives. Other people, even with the best intentions and motivation, quit smoking right before an unexpected life changing event happens. They get laid off, or their daughter announces she's getting married. Even good things can be stressful.

A wedding or a new baby on the way can be wonderful news, but they still create stress. And stress is the number one trigger for most people to start smoking. That's why self hypnosis has such a great long term track record with ex-smokers. Self-hypnosis is based on learning relaxation techniques. And if you practice them often enough, they turn into healthy new automatic habits that you can use for the rest of your life.

If You Want to Quit Smoking, Hypnosis is the Healthiest Method

Author: Joanne Fallwater

Are you concerned about your health? If you want to quit smoking, hypnosis is the healthiest method. Just think about it for a minute. A quit smoking hypnosis program will teach your healthy habits that you can use for life. But quit smoking drugs have potentially dangerous side effects.

But just as dangerous can side effects be? After all, a lot of the drugs have to be prescribed by a doctor. Doesn't a doctor's supervision automatically make taking drugs to quit smoking safe? And aren't they worth it if the end result is that you don't smoke anymore?

First, you have to understand that all drugs have side effects. And some of them are more serious than others. You're already addicted to nicotine, which is a heavy-duty poison. Did you know nicotine has been used for centuries as an insecticide to kill insects?

Well, when you use a nicotine patch or nasal sprays that are compounded with nicotine, you're still delivering that poison into your system. True, you're getting doses small enough that they won't kill you as long as you follow the directions carefully.

But a long-time smoking habit isn't just about the physical addiction to nicotine. People who have smoked for a number of years to develop "smoking rituals". Those are the small actions that get repeated every time you smoke.

They are small things, like the way you hold your hand when you smoke your cigarette. Do you hold your cigarette between your index and middle fingers? Or do you like to hold it between your thumb and index finger?

You keep your lighter in your pants pocket? How many times a day do you reach for your lighter? Do you think it's a coincidence that when you reach for your keys in your pocket, you suddenly crave a cigarette?

It's no coincidence. Putting your hand in your pocket has become part of a "smoking ritual" that triggers your urge to smoke. Even if you just finished smoking a cigarette a few minutes ago, when you put your hand in your pocket again, you'll think about having a cigarette.

That's where the nicotine replacement drugs, like the patch and the nasal sprays and inhalers, can become dangerous. They take care of the physical cravings, but they don't address the smoking rituals. So a lot of people end up using the quit smoking drugs, smoking their cigarettes or cigars on top of it.

That puts them in danger of having a nicotine overdose. Just because you don't drop dead on the spot from smoking a cigarette or cigar, doesn't mean that you can't overdose on nicotine. You can. Not only can an overdose of nicotine make you violently ill, it can kill you on the spot. Like a dead bug hit with insecticide.

And what about the quit smoking pills? You can't get them without a prescription, so you would think that they would be safe. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Even under a doctor's supervision, some of the drugs themselves are just not safe.

If you take the time to read the list of potential side effects that these drugs can cause, it will make you think twice about taking them. You want to quit smoking because you want to be healthy. But do you really want to risk damage to your heart, liver, kidney and other internal organs while you're in the process of quitting smoking?

There are other safer methods to quit smoking that don't have any kind of physical health risk at all. No, you don't have to quit smoking cold turkey. Hypnosis has the best long-term success rate of any of the methods that people use to quit smoking. And the side effects of using hypnosis, long term are actually good for you.

A good hypnosis program will give you tools to help ease the nicotine cravings. You'll also learn ways to deactivate those "smoking ritual" triggers. And that's really important for long-term success.

It's Never Too Late To Quit Smoking

Author: magnus

Can't teach an old dog new tricks? Medical evidence strongly suggests otherwise. Picking up a new trick or two is  not only possible, it's well worth it. Now, there is no need to get offended. No one is suggesting you are old, or a dog.  It is simply a point of reference. There is a need, however, to be optimistic about reducing the odds of developing  a smoking-related illness when you quit smoking after the age of 50.

The good news gets even better. Putting down the cigs for good after 50 years of age (or any age for that matter) will not only improve overall health, but many tobacco-related conditions can actually be reversed. According to the  American Heart Association, people between the ages of 60-64 who quit smoking are 10 percent less likely to die  during the next 15 years than regular smokers.

Still looking for that extra incentive to put down the old habit? Pull out a calendar and let's look at some numbers.  The Surgeon General Report states that within one to nine months after quitting, coughing and shortness of breath decrease and the lungs regain their ability to clean and moderate themselves, thereby reducing the chances of  infection. Give up smoking for a year and the excess risk of coronary heart disease becomes half that of a regular smoker's. After 10 years of being cigarette-free, the risk of lung, mouth, throat and other cancers (including esophagus, cervix, bladder and pancreas) are reduced by almost half. Best of all, the risk of coronary heart disease is the same  as a non-smoker's after 15 years of a smoke-free lifestyle.

These benefits not only translate into reduced pain and suffering, but they also reduce the chances of being burdened by preventable medical bills and the arbitrary expense of cigs. Getting 15 years of life back is impressive enough, but knowing the quality of life during those 15+ years will be enjoyable is a gratifying incentive.
