There are many scientifically proven stop smoking medications available in the market today that will help a person stop the habit of smoking. The Nicotine Patch

The nicotine patch is a small, adhesive patch that slowly releases nicotine into the bloodstream through the outer layer of the skin. It can be applied anywhere between the waist and neck and is easy to use. It is also available without a doctor's prescription and in various doses. This flexibility allows a person to manage one's withdrawal symptoms and cravings and also helps taper the amount of nicotine you will receive as you slowly become comfortable with not smoking.

The Nicotine Gum

Nicotine gum keeps your mouth busy, and it also satisfies your smoking cravings quickly. The gum is made from a special material called polacrilex. To release the nicotine from the gum, chew until you feel a tingling sensation in your mouth. Now, to absorb the nicotine, hold the chewed gum between the cheek and gums until the taste or tingling sensation disappears. If you want more nicotine, just chew and hold it for several times. You can buy it over the counter in 2-4 ml doses and chew it as often as needed. A person can use up to 24 pieces of gum a day.

The Nicotine Lozenge

Nicotine lozenges are similar to hard candy. You place them in your mouth and suck them slowly. It can be used discreetly to quickly satisfy your cravings. Each lozenge can last for 20- 30 minutes. This stop smoking medication system is available over the counter in 2-4 ml dose. Just do not swallow it whole as you will get too much nicotine, which may cause dizziness and nausea.

The Nicotine Inhaler

The nicotine inhaler is a device that allows you to get low doses of nicotine using the same hand to mouth motions of smoking. Puffing gently on this device releases a small dose of nicotine from a cartridge in the device. Hold the vapor in your mouth for a few seconds and then blow it out. The nicotine is absorbed thru the tissues of the mouth and throat.

The Nicotine Nasal Spray

The nicotine nasal spray reaches the bloodstream more quickly than the other stop smoking medications. The nicotine nasal spray is sprayed through your nostrils. The recommended dose is a spray into each nostril one to five times an hour. This system is available only thru a doctor's prescription as the side effects are nasal, throat, and sinus irritation.

Smoking is a complex addiction with a lot of physical and psychological elements. The most effective strategy to quit smoking is to combine stop smoking medications with a program that includes support from professionals specifically trained to treat tobacco use and dependence.

Is it normal to have numbness/tingling throughout your body after 6 months of quitting smoking?
I know that it is normal from 2 weeks to 3 months after quitting because of ciculation coming back through your body, but I have been quit for 6 months. I am thinking stress and that upsets me because I am starting to feel like I NEED a smoke to calm my nerves.

You are over the hard part.
Your body is trying to tell you that the poison in cigarettes is good. (It misses it).
Stay tough. You haven’t died from lack of smoking. Truth is… you are on your way to being the healthiest you have been in a long time.

How long can I expect the tingling in my hands and legs to last after quitting smoking?

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, I have the same tingling and numbness sensations in my feet and legs (mostly calves) in last 2 weeks or so after I quit smoking since 4-15, I had no such sensation before I quit. Some ex-smokers did experience same sensations in hands, arms, feet, legs… after they quit smoking. They said it will pass, it’s your circulation getting better and normal after quit smoking. It takes weeks to months to get back to normal, they said. My doctor also gave me peace of mind as well.

      Good luck!

btw, keep it up. Don’t give up!!

How long does it take the numbness/tingling feeling from smoking weed to go away?
I dont smoke alot…maybe only five times. Two days ago i got high out of my mind and now im feeling a numbness/tingling feeling all over my body. legs, arms, mouth, chest. EVERYWHERE. alot of people have described this same symptom but no one has said how long it took to feel normal again. im kinda freaked out….help.

Be cool and try not to panic (another side effect if you don’t stay cool), it will pass. Could be an allergic reaction as well as the normal reaction.

Know this: If you smoke more and more and more, then you will assume you are becoming immune to the effects when in reality the effects will have your mind confused about how it should be acting. You need to stay away from it.

Smokers, do you stop feeling the tingling feeling in your lungs after smoking for some years?
I’m 23 and have smoked cigarettes for about three years now … I know it’s bad for me and I should quit. But my question is that I no longer feel the tingling in my lungs when I smoke, it’s more just like breathing. I smoke about half a pack a day more or less, Marlboro Reds 100s. Thanks

I’ve been smoking that brand for close to 20 years – tingling gives way to dull pain. Then sharp pain when trying to breath to much at one time. And if I don’t get enough sleep I can’t smoke without having coughing fits and sharp pains in my lungs…..not to mention the severe pain in my bank account every time I buy a carton.
QUIT NOW – SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY!!

tingling / numbness 3 days after smoking weed?
im not a big smoker and i got that tingling high feeling for the first time this time i smoked. the tingling and numbness is still here 3 days after that and i’m starting to get really scared because i feel like it has gotten worse. if you have anything you know, please tell me!!

If your sure it was just weed I would give it another day or two (drink some juice and exercise) and then go to the doctor if it persists. Cannabis is remarkably non-toxic and to have a reaction like that is unusual to say the least. Know where your getting your shit from.
