my “bestest friend” is on her way over,
she drives, I cook is the agreement,
too much of life has long passed us by,
this, our usual reunion, Sunday lunch.
yellow sweet potatoes roasted,
cooling, waiting for my touch,
dark maple syrup, pecans, spices,
all anticipating a blending.
loin of pork facing time on the grill,
richly fragrant cider marinade,
hickory chips smoking,
timer set, counting down.
yesterday’s freshly picked fruit,
apples red and tart, pears so sweet,
cored all, not peeled, barely simmering,
dash of lemon, sticks of cinnamon.
fresh rosemary bread quietly rising,
hidden beneath a towel, no drafts,
not a loaf to be, pull aparts, my desire,
golden brown, hot with butter gobs.
a bottle of wine, quiet conversation,
piano playing in the background,
smiling easily while candles scent,
hugs, touches, quite natural display.
sliced pork over wilted greens,
sweet potato soufflé,
apple and pear compote,
gingerbread completes this offering.
nope Daniel,,, that was not the whole story,,, not by a long shot.
However, that story is another story or three or more.
How long to smoke a pork loin?
We have a 22 pound, bone-in pork loin and are wanting to cook it in the smoker. I’ve been searching for answers but am not finding what I need to know. If you know how long it will take to cook this loin, which is cut into 3 sections, at 225-230 degrees F, please let me know. I’ve heard so many different cooking times/pound that I don’t know what to do. Please help.

Your part of the deal was expressed, romantically, in full details up to the last dot..But that wasn’t the whole story, or was it?
Well done!

use a thermometer and when the meat reaches the right temp it’s done.
