Men smoking cigars

Author: Ron K. Heath

Enjoying a good cigar can be compared to tasting a good wine; that is why expert smokers actually ‘taste’ the smoke coming out of every cigar. Taste glands are the best mechanism the human body has to determine the quality of a good smoke. One breath that involves the complexity and the flavors combination of a pure cigar can be compared to the pleasure of tasting a great wine or an exquisite meal.
Cigar clubs and bars are growing in the main cities of the world, making London the Mecca due to its trade and consuming capacity. When smoking in public places was prohibited in the United States, a frenzy of cigar bars was unleashed. Cigar Aficionado is the most important publication in the cigar world consisting on a monthly printout of 750,000.00 magazines. Regardless of the place you visit, it will not be long before you can identify a cigar lover; he lives in camaraderie environments. Such environment is much nicer, more cultural and perfumed than the one from cigarette smokers.
Cigars are said to be a unique experience due to the following: Very few tobacco varieties are used to elaborate a good cigar, which is planted and aged with extreme caution

  • The fermentation process makes the tobacco leaves lose most of their nicotine
  • Cigars designed to burn at very low temperatures, in other words, its tobacco should never be excessively heated so it dies not lose its softness.
  • Smoke is not a secondary element, but the key to the pleasure, since the smoke contains the flavor and aroma that only a cigar can provide.

Cigar smoking tips

Once it is lighted, take the cigar to your lips and blow it prior to the first breath; this will dissipate any unwanted flavor consequence of the lighting. Once this is done, fill your mouth with cold smoke and keep it there without inhaling it; take the cigar out of your mouth, and slowly blow it out. Please hold an instant before the next puff. Do not rush, it is recommended that you take intervals of a minute or so, to prevent the cigar from blowing off. Remember, the faster you smoke, the least you will enjoy the experience, as the cigar will heat excessively and produce a bitter flavor. The head of the cigar should be kept as dry as possible, hence avoid keeping the cigar in your mouth for too long. A cigar with moisture starts to lose flavor when nicotine and tar start mixing with saliva, therefore, do not hold your cigar for more than three minutes on every smoke.
The first half of the cigar is different to the second, the smoke increases and the flavor intensifies as you smoke which is not always positive.  This happens after having smoked a third of the cigar (expert cigar smokers can tell when this moment has been reached, and proceed to light off the cigar, as it had already transpired its thru essence; not doing so will end up in an unpleasant sensation as the cigar turns bitterer by the minute).
Hold the cigar gently but firmly, try not to squeeze it, as it may impact the blow. Hold it between your thumb, index and middle fingers.
The ashtray should be the cigar’s rest place; let it burn off, so it will rapidly consume and generate less smell than pushing it against the ashtray.

Federal ban on smoking? Are the dems for real?
Almost all (if not all) of the candidates at the democratic debate wanted a FEDERAL law prohibiting smoking in public places. First off, wtf? Second, what is their reasoning for this? I am definitely not a smoker, but c’mon now…Ridiculous…
What is considered public property, though? In Delaware smoking is prohibited in restaurants and such (privately owned) but not on the sidewalk (publicly owned). Does “public” just mean…pretty much everywhere but your house? I would think that it would mean publicly owned…since privately owned places should be able to allow smoking or not on their own…?
Don’t want to sound like a jerk, but aren’t Democrats supposed to be all about keeping the gov’t off peoples’ back when it comes to social issues (clearly not on fiscal issues)?
I guess my last point wasn’t clear…they make it seem as though they want the gov’t off your back, but yet they want all these laws…abortion is a good example…they supposedly want the gov’t out of the “choice” but yet are backing a court decision being used as law to make it illegal for states to make abortion illegal…? Wha?
Oh yeah and standing next to some guy on the sidewalk while he smokes is NOT going to give you lung cancer…

Ya! What’s up with that? I’m not a smoker either, but c’mon. I mean, if insurance companies want to charge more for smokers coverage, I can understand that. If private companies – restaurants and such – want to have separate smoking sections or prohibit smoking on their premises, I can understand that too. But for the government (dems) to try to put the kabosh on smoking at all? That may be going a bit far.

♥Okay…which one do you think would be the best for a persuassive essay?
–>cyber schools should not be banned.
–>cell phones should not be used while driving.
–>animals should not be used for all scientific research.
–>smoking in public places should be prohibited.
–>the number of trees being cut down in forests is dangerous.
–>private car use should be lowered because it causes part of the pollution that is in the air.

cell phones in cars and the animals thing are always being done, same with the trees, and banning smoking could lead to a police state, i’d go with the lowering car use one because you can talk about different ways to use public transit along with the harmful effects of pollution

Do you think NJ’s Bill S1335 should be passed? Should people under 19 be able to smoke in public places?
Should people under 19 be able to smoke in public outdoor places? The current law in place prohibits people under 19 from purchasing cigarettes. So is it right that we all see kids going around town smoking, which we know are 17 or even 14 years old? Here is the bill’s link: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2008/Bills/S1500/1335_I1.HTM

I like the idea. Just like alcohol, if they are not old enough to purchase it, they should not be allowed to use it in public. If their parents are OK with them smoking at home, they can do it there.

Should smoking be banned in outside areas?
Indoor public places in many countries including UK, Ireland and the US now prohibit smoking by law. As an ex/anti smoker I applaud this. However, some other outdoor areas have the ban now. Ignoring very small areas where food is served and the smoke may still be distasteful to patrons, or entrance areas where gathered smokers might be detriemental to business, is this a fair imposition on a minority for no legitimate reason? Note, please do not answer along the you think smoking should be banned, period. That’s an entirely different matter and smoking remains legal.

if they smoke outside they’re only hurting themselves, and a man has the right to do whatever harm he feels to his own body. I think it’s authoritarian to ban smoking.

Why should smoking be prohibited in all public places?
    thanks alot
i got my reasons but i need support!! :)

    • Anonymous says:

because it is more dangerous for a person who does not smoke to breathe in the fumes than it is for a smoker to smoke! It’s because the fumes the non-smokes is inhaling are not filtered.
Thats reason enough I should think!
