Stop Smoking Tips: 3 Stop Smoking Remedies That Really Work
Author: Star Smith
With millions of smokers desperate to quit, there seems to be an unending barrage of tips, ideas and suggestions on how to stop smoking. If you are currently a smoker, I’m sure you’ve heard of many of them. Perhaps you’ve even tried one or two things, but you’re still looking for that one method that will work for you. Luckily, the chances that you’ll eventually be successful are pretty good.
Millions of people, who were once dedicated smokers, are now ex-smokers. If they could do it, surely you can too. You just need to find the right method that works for you. As you already know, it’s easy enough to start puffing away on those cigarettes, but it’s really hard when you try to quit.
Here’s something positive for you to think about. Each and every day, you actually go six to eight hours without having a cigarette. It doesn’t matter if you are a heavy or light smoker. There is a long period of time when you do not have a single cigarette. Guess when.
Stumped?
When you’re asleep at night.
Think about it. Each night when you go to sleep, you usually do not wake up in the middle of the night with a craving for cigarettes. Maybe you want one right after waking up, but during the night, your cigarette addiction is asleep as well. This means that you can, in fact, go for long periods without having a cigarette while you’re awake.
Some of the more popular ways to kick the habit are hypnosis, nicotine aids, medications, and the always popular cold turkey method. Many smokers don’t think they can go the cold turkey route, but many people are successful doing it this way. The bottom line on quitting is: different strokes for different folks – use whatever you think will work best for you.
Here are three of the all time best ways to quit smoking:
Hypnosis
Many people, who are struggling to give up smoking, find hypnosis is the answer they’ve been looking for to finally end their addiction. When you visit a hypnotist to stop smoking, they will put you in a relaxed state and then give you positive suggestions concerning your smoking habit.
You will hear the message over and over again that you no longer need, or have any desire, to smoke cigarettes. Because you are in a relaxed state, your subconscious mind will be very open to this suggestion. Our subconscious minds play a big role in our everyday behavior. This is why hypnosis therapy is so powerful.
You don’t have to visit a hypnotherapist to quit smoking. You can buy a hypnosis CD or Mp3 download that will have the same powerful message that you can listen to repeatedly. If you go this route, make sure you are relaxed and free of stress to obtain the best results.
Stop Smoking Aids
What makes giving up cigarettes so difficult for many people is the withdrawal symptoms from nicotine. Nicotine is a powerful addictive substance and when you begin pulling away from it, you may experience extreme irritability, as well as, cravings.
Many people turn to stop smoking aids to avoid the unpleasant side effects of quitting. There’s the nicotine patch, nicotine gum and inhalers. Recently, there is a pill that is supposed to be very good for smoking cessation.
Some of these aids are available over the counter, while others need a doctor’s prescription. If you have any questions or concerns about these methods, you should consult your doctor.
Cold Turkey
Some people think that going cold turkey is easy, but the reality is that it’s the hardest way to stop smoking. You need to be highly motivated to try this method and quite frankly, most people who think they can simply stop smoking usually find they cannot quit so easily.
Remember that nicotine is a powerful substance and your body and mind is used to having a constant supply. You may throw those cigarettes away and tell yourself that you’re not going to touch one ever again, but your mind will begin to crave another cigarette. It’s particularly hard when you’re around other smokers.
Many people fail their first time going cold turkey, and if this happens to you, don’t get too upset. It may take you two or more tries before you can finally quit
smoking for good.
To help yourself, you can write down positive affirmations and read them every day. You can also give yourself a little reward for reaching small goals – like pay
yourself a dollar for each day you go without having a cigarette.
Whatever method you use, make a firm commitment that you will see it through until you are successful. Your long-term health is more important than sticking with an old habit that offers nothing but the promise of expensive medical bills down the road. Kick the habit today – you can do it!

What are the best Stop Smoking remedies!?
I have been smoking for 25 years and want to stop. I smoke 1/2 pack a day. my first is 15 min after i wake. I know the cravings will be difficult but would like ideas on how to focus on other things. What type of over the counter drugs have the best outcome. Is there a stop smoking chat room?
go to quitassist.com. Pick a date that you are going to quit. When I quit I knew for awhile I wanted to. I picked about 3 months ahead. I smoked as usual for the first couple months knowing I was quitting soon. The last month I cut back some a little at a time. Instead of taking an extra break at work to smoke I’d cut that one out and wait until the next break. Once it was my quit date I started my day at the gym and used the Nicorette mint gum that burns a little. Trust me, you’ll WANT the burn. So exercise is key, once your lungs start hurting you won’t want a cigarette. After a while on the gum I switched to the patch and chewed regular gum. Now I am a gum addict but I don’t smoke anymore! It’s been a year! Good luck to you!
Bach Flower Remedies for smoking cessation?
I have begun to use Bach Flower Remedies on myself. My husband would like to quit smoking – can anyone out there suggest a remedy or two that would be best for him to try? Maybe the Rescue Remedy?
I used Chantix. Got the perscription and set my quit day 8 days later. Just after the first pill I went from a pack and a half a day down to 4 cigs. I just didnt want one. Never thought about having one either and ZERO withdrawls. I am now fully off Chantix and still smoke free with zero withdrawls. oh and I still dont think about having one either.
Are there any natural remedies to help quit smoking?

First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!
As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, and it also depends on how much you’ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you’ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.
For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you’ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal…
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it’s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).
All that being said, it’s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last smoke (it’s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don’t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!
Supplement or home remedies for smoking environment workers?
hi i`m currently working in a casino which is a smoking environment area..
just wondering is there any certain supplement that i can take to reduce the second hand smoking effect???
i now it is bad for my health but i have now choice now ..please dont tell me to quit this job it wont help me..
thx for your help
Oh, that is unfortunate. I had a different thought before I read the question… to buy an air ionizer because they can actually neutralize smoke in the air, but I don’t think you could have that if you worked on the floor or moved around. Although you could buy a mini air purifier that you can hang around your neck to neutralize the smoke around you… if they would allow it. For health reasons, they would probably allow it, but maybe not if you don’t have a medical condition. It wouldn’t hurt to ask, I suppose.
That being said, there are supplements that can help with lung health such as Tylophora Asthmatica leaves (an herb), Quercetin, and Black Cohosh. You could also take some good antioxidants like Vitamins A, C, and E (or even just a multivitamin to cover your bases) among many other options to help protect your cells against damage from the free radical damage that the smoke can cause. Good luck and I hope I helped!
What are really good tips and remedies on quitting smoking?
I’m 16 years old, and I’m already a HEAVY smoker. I smoke a pack of cigarettes in about two and a half days. I really really want to quit, but I cant go for more than 1 hour without nicotine. I can’t take any meds to quit, and nicotine gum & dissolving tobacco doesn’t work. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are he as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!
