what are te effect of smoking on pregnancy and the baby after birth?
My girlfriend is 3 month pregnant but cvould not stop smoking so i like to know what danger this could bring to the pregnancy and the baby after birth.

I have been smoking cigarettes for 10 years now, i have cut down to the light ones 1mg and i smoke around 20 per day. I am TTC now and am finding it so difficult to quit. My partner is a smoker also and this makes it even harder, he says he will quit when i do. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
You need to be firm with your partner. You want to quit – and seeing other people smoke is even worse for you.
If you haven’t already, ban smoking inside the house. From now on, make yourself and your partner smoke outside. This kind of “breaks” some habits (smoking first thing in the morning, smoking after a meal) and makes breaking more easier.
After a meal and first thing in the morning, try to force yourself to go an extra 30 min to an hour without allowing yourself a cigarette. The more “habits” you break, the easier it will become to cut back dramatically. When you are down to say… five cigarettes a day – imagine how much easier it will be to cut down to 2.. then 1… . then … poof! No more.
The key is to break habits. Yes there is nicotine addiction – but I found that the urge to light up in the car, during coffee, after meals, etc was stronger just because i would associate those things with cigarettes. Forcing myself NOT to light up immediately really helped with phasing it out all together.

I smoked with my first baby and he is now 8 months old and strong as.
i know im gunna get thumbs down for this but im still a smoker.ive tried everything to patches,inhalers and no go.
if no one has been a smoker for a long time and they try and qiut its bloody hard.they say its easy but they havnt gave up!
ive had 4 children and their birthweights ranged from 7lb13oz to my last son who was 9lb8oz……..
im not smoking as much but i still have that guilt because i can feel my baby move x

Pregnancy & smoking doctor says i cant quiet cold turkey?
So i know its not good.
Well my doctor told me i should slowly stop because quitting cold turkey could put to much stress on me and the baby.
But i really just want to quiet cold turkey cause slowly stopping really isnt working for me. And smoking since iv gotten pregnant has made me feel extremly sick. So any tips or anything would be really nice.
Quitting cold turkey, as I was told by my OB, is actually worse than continuing to smoke during your pregnancy. The stress caused by quitting cold turkey can do more damage to the baby. It’s not good to smoke while pregnant, either, though. Your baby could be born early, with low birth weight, and/or with lung problems. If you can’t quit before your 12th week, my doctor said to at least cut down. Morning sickness when you smoke can actually be a blessing. If you CAN completely quit without stress, you can do that without stressing yourself or the baby out. But if it’s too much to handle, don’t try. Cutting down is best.
How do you feel about smoking during pregnancy?
I smoked a pack a day before i found out i was pregnant and now i smoke 3 a day, i quit 6 times during the pregnancy but couldn’t handle the stress. Does this make me a bad mother? I know when i hear of people doing crack and drinking during pregnancy I worry for the baby and think that the mother wont take care of him/her once hes born and he’ll have a rough life if he even makes it out of the womb. Do you think the same about me because i smoke?
We all know smoking is not good period and while pregnant it seems worse.
With that said It took me 4 months to fully quit with my second child. I found out I was preggo when I was 2 months along and tried to quit for 4 months. I felt guilt and it was hard. People don’t realize how hard it really is. Once you quit just quit. Don’t wait until baby is born to start back up again. When I realized I was preggo I cut back to one a night. I worked 11 PM to 7 AM and then an hour drive home and was up with my oldest until 5 pm when my bf got home so I was living on barely any sleep as my daughter was 4 years old. I was majorly stressed. I know bad excuse but it was hard.
It is hard. I would say try your hardest not to have any I finally quit at 6 months with my second.
My first I had a slight aversion so I quit almost before I found out.
This one I actually had already quit for good a year before I got pregnant.
You can do it be strong talk to your doctor about safe quitting techniques while pregnant.
