Dermal Fillers - Reverse the Effects of Aging

Author: Spero Theodorou

Dermal fillers, whether synthetic or naturally obtained, are substances introduced into the skin by injection to fill lines and lend fullness to the lips. They help to reverse the effects of aging on the facial skin.

For Wiping Away the Signs of Aging

Aging is accompanied by a decrease in the production of collagen and the dermis losing important components such as collagen fibres, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. This results in the deterioration of the dermis skin structure and causes wrinkles, creases, and folds. Dermal fillers replace the skin’s lost components thereby not just wiping away the lines but also enhancing the facial contour. Commonly used dermal fillers include Radiesse, Restylane, Hylaform, and Juvederm.

Smoothes Out Wrinkles and Improves Sunken Areas

Depending on what the individual needs of the patient are, the consultant may suggest a single filler or a combination of various fillers to achieve impressive results. Usually, before injecting the dermal filler, numbing medication would be locally injected or a topical numbing cream applied. The dermal filler is injected deep into the skin at the locations of scars, wrinkles, creases or sunken areas. Wrinkles are smoothened and the sunken areas given more volume. So, if old age has caused the patient’s cheeks to become sunken, dermal fillers could help.

What Good Dermal Filler Treatment Is About

A good dermal filler:

•    Can be easily administered
•    Would stay in the dermis for a considerable length of time
•    Has high safety standards

What a person gains out of a properly administered dermal filler treatment is firm, youthful looking skin.

Keep in Mind

Reactions to the injection include redness, swelling at the injection site, discoloration and discomfort but thankfully these reactions are temporary, most of the time. Follow-up treatments would be necessary for sustaining the results.

    effects of meth on me?
I used to smoke methamphetamine. It really was never an addiction, but over a period of maybe 2 years, I smoked sometimes twice a month, but more often once every month or few months. it was very erratic, and I’ve been clean for a few months now, and very proud of myself :) . I don’t know why i ever smoked, i never really liked using it, it made me very anxious and tensed and made my body/skin feel very dirty or used..i don’t know how to explain it.

anyway, i know that meth is a very powerful drug and can damage the brain (and neurotransmitters like serotonin, etc). i probably have some damage, im aware of that. i’m only 18, and i’m scared about the impact that this drug might have had on me. i was just wondering if it could possibly be reversed, in time or otherwise?

im very healthy now and, i work out 3-4x week, eat mostly natural organic & vegetarian foods. i meditate, am very happy with myself, etc. i just want to know if time will help my brain and body reverse these effects?

I really don’t know. It sounds like if you stay clean and continue the lifestyle you’re living now, you should have less problems than an addict, and you seem to be doing fine with words and balance and stuff, so you seem fine.

    reverse the effects of smoking?
I’m 23 years old, and whilst I was at university I used to smoke cigarettes, not that many about 5 a day for 2 years.. Prior to this I used to have great skin, and now I have actually stopped, just wondering if it’s possible to reverse the effects of smoking on my skin.. I have been drinking lots of water and currently on a fruit fast to detox.

Of course you can, it will happen naturally. I stopped smoking after smoking more than a pack a day for 20 years and my skin looks 10 years younger after only 3 months. I may not look as good as if I never smoked but even at my age my skin is doing a remarkable job of repairing itself.
If you want to speed up the process then try a good exfoliator or peel.
