    Quitting Smoking?
I managed to quit for 3 months smoking using the nicotrol inhaler as my start then the last2 1/2 months I did by myself. i really really really want to quit again but I don’t have any health insurance so I cant get the inhaler again. Is there any product that is really really good to give you a jump start to quit smoking? Something to control the cravings. Please no f~n affiliate links to your crappy sites

I cant take the lozenge cause the aspartame they put in it gives me headaches. Also i am afraid of the patch because my uncle died in his 40′s while using that supposedly.

Have you tried not using nicotine replacement? There are plenty of books (eg Alan Carr’s Easyway) available, or you could try hypnosis.

    need help quitting smoking.?
ok im 17 yrs old and i am trying to give up however every time i use nicotine replacements like the gum, patches or inhalers i get pains in my side? is this normal? i cant use some of the other products like zyband because i take tremadol pain killers? is there anything else.(apart from will power)
thank for the replies, i have tried will power, herbal tobacco and exercise with no succession im trying to keep myself busy at the mo and that seems to be working apart from when i get up in the morning ang go to bed at night.
ive tried the nhs quit smoking line but theyre not to gelpful they tell me stuff i already know.
my friends that have already given up say eating instead of smoking helps, i need to put on weight so i will give that a go it might be cheaper, just worried thats replacing one craving for another
ive tried the electronic cigarettes at my work might try using one a bit more often. as for exercise is cycle 12miles a day which does help because i wont smoke whilst cycling(someone told me its more of a health risk if you do?) i stopped buying tobacco 3 days ago but i can always somehow get a cigarette even when im working! my girlfriends is quitting 2moro so we might be able to help eachother. im proud of the ex smokers that gave up on will power, i can say to myself its all in my head but its not that part of my brain that controls cravings that wants to listen.
ok im going to try a few things over the next couple of days…
    1.keeping myself occupied
    2.eating more
    3.herbal tobacco
4.and rewards…my brother just bought me a new phone, i can have it once ive quit.
5.quitting with someone else for support.

You are only 17… I smoked for over 20 years… I quit cold turkey!!! It was not easy,,, But I did it!!! It is all psychological. In your head… It has been over 5 years since I had my last cigarette.
I still read a lot of self help books and work out at the gym a lot! Yoga and aerobics have really helped me. I do eat more than I did before I smoked but try eat lot’s of fruit and veggies.
When people ask if I am a smoker.. I still have a hard time saying No.
So good luck to you… You are young. Quit now cause the longer you smoke the harder it will be to stop.
      Good Luck!

What do you think is the best smoking cessation product to help quitting?
I have been smoking for about 14 years. i will be thirty next week and desperately want to quit. I have used the patch and quit for over a year, however the patch gave me a horribly painful rash and severe nightmares, even when i didn’t where it at night. I was just wondering, for those who were successful quitting, what worked for you? was it cold turkey, pure motivation, patch , gum, inhaler. I would love some thoughts and advice to get me going on this. Thanks.

To start, I decided to stop smoking when I was by myself. I would only smoke when I was around friends who smoked or at a party. When I stopped getting the urges to smoke when I was alone, I stopped buying cigarettes all together. I would bum smokes every once in a while from friends who were smoking and really cut down on my habit. Once I saw how much money I was saving and how much better I felt, I decided I had made the right decision and decided I did not want to continue smoking at all. It’s amazing how much better you feel a couple months after quitting.

Good luck. Going cold turkey rarely ever works, weening yourself off of the cigarettes with your own plan that you stick to is the best way.
