    I quit smoking 6 weeks ago and have had TERRIBLE gas!?
    I realize that my body was cleansing all the toxins out and so on, so I increased my water, veggies and fiber. I run every other day for 45 minutes. But this gas is constant and unrelenting. It reminds me of my bout with giardia. Could it be that my body has not adjusted to the lack of the cigarette increasing my metabolism and aiding with digestion? Any herbal answers? I do not have health insurance at the time and would like to avoid going to the doctor for this. Thanks.

      I think that nicotine receptors in your intestines have something to do with gas accumulation. I read somewhere that a doctor did surgery on a patient that chewed lots of tobacco and had to quit for the first time 12 hours before surgery. While in recovery the patients’ intestines ballooned up with gas and the doctor had to order the patient to chew on some tobacco to release it.

      I think you can still find the story at some place in the internet if you are curious enough.

      You will be fine once your body as acclimated, but there is no way of telling how long that will take.

    Can you give me a list of herbal remedies to aid in quitting smoking?
    I REALLY want to help my husband. I have heard that taking licorice can make the cigs taste nasty and that chewing chamomile flowers can ease anxiety. Are these true? Can you offer more tips? THANKS!

    has anyone tried the Nicocure Pill? Success or Failure?
    im trying to quit smoking. the only method ive tried is cold turkey. i never make it longer than a few days. i think i need something to aid will power. Also im weary of patches and/or pills which contain nicotine. it dosent make sense to quit a subtance with that very substance. After doing some research, nicocure seems to be the most revered of natural/herbal methods. Im asking this question cuz i want unbiased opinions from people who have tried this product or natural/herbal ones like it. So far those that endorse it, seem to also be the ones selling it. thanks

      i too am going through the same problem, have tried it all , just not working. i am now looking to find some kind of a quit smoking group or class , not easy.
      at least the one thing is we both want to quit, that is a start. the gum is the one that’s works for most , never helped me because i don’t like any gum.

      Gum, patch, etc. all have about a 7% success rate and that drops to under 5% after 90 days. Cold Turkey has slightly higher success rates.

      Electronic Cigs can help get you off of tobacco but you are still getting the nicotine which is supposedly the hardest to quit. After using the e-cig for going on 6 months with decreasing amounts of nicotine – it is my opinion that being addicted to nicotine is NOT the worst thing in the world. I know that rolling out of bed in the morning, the first thing on my mind is NOT getting to my e-cig like it was with regular tobacco. It was hard enough to jump in the shower and such without lighting up first. Not like that with e-cigs.

      I recommend you read some forums and learn more about them so you can make an informed decision.
