Quit Smoking Help

Author: James

There is a lot of quit smoking help available on the market today but they can mostly be categorized as either pharmaceuticals or nicotine replacement therapies. What both pharmaceuticals and NRT have in common is that they are produced by the world’s biggest drug companies. Now call me a conspiracy theorist but I’d don’t believe that these companies are creating quit smoking aids for the benefit of humanity. They are huge companies with a crowd of shareholders to keep happy after all.

For this reason I was always wary of using drugs when I attempted to quit smoking, of course in the end I was using an electronic cigarette, so you could say I’m slightly crazy. The thing is, I’ve recently been hearing about all the nasty side affects caused by one quit smoking aid drug in particular known as Champix.

Champix has been a phenomenal success since it was introduced to the market, with an incredible 9 million people using it as a quit smoking aid and the drug raking in almost 0 million for Pfizer in its first year on the market. However, in the 12 months there have been a number of alarming reports about users suffering from severe depression and even suicides while taking the drug.

Pfizer denies any relationship between the drug and the psychological problems suffered by users, it says that “Quitting smoking, with or without treatment, is associated with nicotine withdrawal symptoms and the exacerbation of underlying psychiatric illness”.

Electronic Cigarette can be used as an alternative to a cigarette, and fulfill your psychological needs of smoking, by allowing you to blow out smoke-like water vapor. Electronic Cigarette is not a smoking cessation device, and has not been medically proven to help users quit smoking. Electronic cigarettes also look, feel and even taste like regular cigarettes, but are far superior because they are by and large safer than tobacco products.

The choice is yours if you want to use these products but I’m glad I decided to give them a miss and stick with my trusty e cigarette and my copy of “The Easy Way to Quit Smoking”.

I quit cold turkey over 20 years ago. I did gain some weight initially but with careful eating and exercise it came off easily. There is a temptation to smoke when you are stressed. What helped me is to just take a couple of deep breaths instead of giving into the temptation. Good luck – your lungs will thank you for it!!

Well quitting smoking is very difficult for those who smoke many times a day. But tell him to be brave and don’t use any patches or medicines (I recommend) because they can be dangerous in many cases. But when he will quit smoking by himself, without using any medicines, then he will become confident, it increases confidence in man, it makes you brave.

I want to quit smoking, because it’s gross, but I don’t want to get crabby, or gain weight. Has anyone out there been successful with a particular method? Help please…

    Help me quit smoking, please.?
I’m 19 years old, I started casually smoking when I was 12 (I know its bad, you don’t need to tell me).

I love smoking as bad as it sounds and I know that its killing me.

What are the best products and ways to help me stop?

And do/did you smoke or know someone who does/did?

    Thank you

I’d appreciate it if all stupid comments would be left out, but if you must.

I started smoking a little when I was 17. In college, I went through a pack a day easy. I finally quit when I was almost 21. I haven’t bought a pack in probably six months or more. I don’t miss it. For me, it was easy to quit. I didn’t like it was affecting me. I just stopped. I will say it made it a little easier that I continued to smoke weed at the time. Because it was instilled in you at an early developmental age, I’d have to say it will probably take more effort from you to quit. But then, everyone is different.

The absolute best advice I can give you is to start running everyday. For me it made me realize just how weak my heart, lungs, well…..my entire cardiovascular system got. You’ll see what I mean.

      Good luck.
