Recently, more and more smoking rooms appear in public places. Railway stations, for example. There are "NO SMOKING" signs everywhere. According to a survey, the number of people dying of smoking reaches 2,500,000 every year around the world. Smoke is the first human murderer. Smoking has caused attention to many people. Then why are cigarettes still attracted to so many people? How can people managed to stop being a nicotine addict?
Firstly, with our society developing at an amazingly fast speed, people are under great pressure. As a result, people pursue cigarettes as a way to release their burden. Secondly, some people including the students think it cool to smoke. Smoking makes them feel excited. Besides, they feel they would become energetic after smoking. Some people also regard it as a way to attract the opposite sex. Thirdly, some people become addicted to smoking by imitating other people, especially the children. It's reported that nearly 80% people tend to smoke if his or her mother or father is a smoker.
The above are some reasons why people smoke. As we know, smoking can make the human feel headache and tired. It makes working efficiency drop and it causes many kinds of diseases. What's worse, second-hand smoke hurt the health of the family deadly as well the people around. In that way, how could we get rid of smoking successfully?
In my opinion, the key point is that smokers must have the desire from their deep hearts to quit smoking. Nothing is impossible as long as you put your mind into it. What's more, find motivations for them so that smokers are able to convince themselves of quitting smoking. In addition, try to make themselves focus on other things such as playing computer games and candy when they want to smoke .At last, the most effective way to quit smoking I think is to go see a doctor and using some medicine plus your determination to get rid of cigarettes.
It's a long and rough journey to quit smoking. However, smoking brings lot damages to smokers' own health and their family. It does also bring pollution to our living environment. Besides, smoking costs quite a lot of money, with which we can do a lot beneficial and meaningful things to the people who need it. Thus, you can keep a healthy body and gain a share of happiness from it. So we should stop smoking and form good habits so that we can spend our time learning useful and valuable things for our motherland and people, bringing contributions to our world. I highly recommend you quit smoking expert.

What are the side effects of quitting marijuana cold turkey after 1 year of smoking it straight?
I have smoked marijuana for a good year straight now, pretty much every day. recently I decded I want to quit , so I quit cold turkey and havent smoked for 2 weeks straight now and literally feel like im going crazy.
I have been searching every day now for answwers online for what might be wrong with me, becasue I have felt everything including:
- Anxiety
- Social Anxiety**
- Depression
- Random and constant moodswings
I have felt alot more things like I dont know who I am anymore, I constantly question my thinking, sometimes I feel like somethings isnt rite when Im watching TV and feel like im going insane. Basically Im asking if all these things are normal when quitting maraijuana. I also thought I might have schizophrenia, or extreme OCD because I think of strange and obscure thoughts that I know doesnt make sense but cant help but think of them.
Good for you on quitting.
I did the same thing and went through the same kind of things. Try to keep yourself occupied with things to do. Exercise helps alot. Give it some more time and you will feel much better. What you are going through is indeed normal.
After smoking for a year straight it may take 30 to 60 days to clear out of your system with traces ot it taking a couple of months, but you will feel better before then.
MJ IS addicting btw.
are these side effects normal to quitting smoking cold turkey?
i stopped smoking all together like 2 days ago these are my side effects… are they normal?
- entire body aches
- coughing A LOT so much that sometimes i may throw up
- and headache ( i think as a result of the coughing)
- no sleep
any idea if these are normal/ how long will they last?
Yes; all of them are ‘normal’. I also went slightly insane – screaming at friends, weeping for no reason, driving wildly, throwing things etc.. That only lasted 6 days, but the only reason the symptoms stopped is that I began smoking again! ( literally couldn’t handle the misery I was going thru.) I wish you much better luck than I experienced. If you succeed at quitting, perhaps you’ll be healthy enough to be a pallbearer at my funeral?
Seriously tho; good luck!
I quit smoking, now suffering side effects . . .?
I quit smoking cold turkey (just before I went to sleep, so I could start the next day as a non-smoker), and it totally worked. I haven’t smoked and don’t feel the need to. I can finally breathe, have lots of energy, it’s great.
The only problem is, I now have a lot of acne spots. I used to get a lot of spots, but they all cleared up three months ago. My face was totally spot free, and it was great. For those of you who get spots, you know how great that would be. Well, now they’ve all come back! My mother said it is because, now that I don’t smoke, my body is trying to get rid of all the toxins the cigarettes put into my body. I don’t know if this is true, so I am asking you guys. I would like to know why they have come back since I haven’t smoked in a week, and how long they will last. (I thought you got more spots if you DID smoke)
Additional info: I am 19, male, and freakin hate spots.
Also, I heard drinking a lot of water helps flush your system, but any more tips on top of that would be helpful.
Thanks!
First of all, well done on the no smoking!
Not sure if stopping has an effect on acne. I had acne on and off for about 5 years in my teens, and I think it just came and went as it pleased!
But, for sure, not smoking can only bring positives, along with a healthy diet and plenty of water.
By the way, if you feel this good now, then you’ll feel even better in a month!
Good luck buddy.
just quit smoking cold turkey? am i going to get healthier.?
I smoked for about a year (pack every 3 days) . I just quit smoking cold turkey and I’m trying to eat healthier and get more exercise and vitamins. am I going to get healthier? or will the effects from tobacco stay in me forever/

33 weeks pregnant and just quit smoking cold turkey, any risks to my baby?
I know i should have quit earlier in my pregnancy but due to personal reasons i couldnt. I got the flu and a chest infection early last week and literally could not smoke for a whole day, so after i made it the day without a cigareette i decided to quit, so i have quit it has been 4 days without even a puff. As proud of myself as i am, i am just wondering if this is gonna have negative effects on the baby. i lost a bit of weight from being sick and her movement has slowed a ittle but not much and she was a very active baby so she is still very active. Not any real differences. Just wondering if i did the right thing by quitting
Thanks
