Ah Hah! I was trying to quit smoking to day so I decided to munch on cabbage…?
When I was reading the health benefits of cabbage it said that if you consume cabbage 3 times a weeks it lowers a smokers risk of lung cancer by 69%! So eating cabbage… I guess I don’t have to quit smoking…’cause sometimes yahoo people make me really want a cigarette! Do you think I’ll turn into a bunny?

Is there any point quitting smoking?
I just read an article on quitting smoking (because i have!) and it weighs up the benefits of quitting smoking.

The thing that surprises me is, it says in a study of 9000 smokers and 3000 ex smokers who had quit a pack a day habit for 1 year, their blood pressure didnt reduce, their weight gained, their breathing & lung capacity improved by only 0.1% overall compared to that of continual smokers.

And also, the risk of lung cancer, heart disease, etc etc doesnt reduce for upto 15 years, and on top of all this, you are miserable for months whilst quitting.

    I sometimes think why bother.
    1. ITS NOT IN THE XMAS SECTION

    2. THE LADY WHO SAID ABOUT HER FATHER DYING. I know it cant be nice, but i could be killed tomorrow, and regards pain, im riddled in pain anyway since quitting its awful.

Im staying stopped as its a personal achievement for myself, nad i know if i even had one i would kick myself for ever, but the point im making is the medical benefits really dont seem to add up.

Smoke, die when u die, be happy and have no pain (in my case)

Or quit smoking, die when u die (maybe a couple years later), be miserable, and be riddled with pain.

I have to say, I gave up 15 months ago and have felt like sh*t ever since.

I have put on weight, I have aches and pains everywhere, I cough up crap every morning and nothing tastes right.
I won’t start again, but I do sometimes wish I hadn’t done it.

    Smoking, Sweating HELP!
Okay I have a few questions. I have been smoking since I was 19I am now 24 years old. I have never exceeded a pack most I smoked/day was about 11-15 cigs. I know what the benefits are for quitting. However, I noticed that over the years I have been excessively been sweating! I mean as soon as the weather gets even a little warm I swear excessively.
Even when I was working out and my diet was great it did not reduce my sweating. I am slightly over weight right now and just want to know that if I completely quit…will I really reduce my chances of smoking related problems? Or have i forever doomed myself?
What about this sweating problem? Its killing me. I will just stand there and I start sweating like crazy! I get tired just by walking up a small flight of stairs (that has to be due to my smoking right?)
I know this is all over the place but someone please suggest something or give me some insight –

Well i am not a expert of anything. But your sweating could be caused because smoking makes it harder for you to do certain things so now that your body has to work harder from you smoking its gonna show it also. To stop smoking could help but its not gonna be easy. Usually when people stop smoking they usually eat way more and that could cause you to gain weight. All I can say is ask someone that has smoked and stopped ask them do they feel different? and other questions similar to that.

Screwed by Parents…Still on Mortgage, Signed Quit-Claim…help?
Ok. I moved out of the country after high school. When I was 21, I moved back to the US and into my father and stepmother’s home. We’ve (her and I) always hated eachother and when I had lived with them for a week and she told me to go rent a room in someone’s house to “be an adult,” my feelings and surprise were no real…surprise. After about a month at this stranger’s house, I was driving an old paid-off car of theirs, had a part time job, and was going to school full-time. My stepmom called me and told me to meet her at some office because they were buying a house I could live in and wanted to put my name on the mortgage with my stepmom to help me get good credit. I needed to leave the stranger’s house I was at (they were smoking weed and told me I wasn’t allowed to listen to music or even whistle indoors…) so essentially I didn’t know what to do, thought this was a helpful thing from my stepmom, went to some office and signed a bunch of papers. She and my dad were there, told me to just sign on my way to class (no time at all to even read or understand what I was signing) and long story short I found out (this is 4 years later…I was co-signing a $274,000 mortgage.) About 6 months later, my stepmom got mad at me and told me to get out, a month after that my dad said he would speak to me again if I signed a quit-claim (I didn’t even know what THAT was) and now, I am married, my credit score is only 599–I’m trying to refinance my truck, pay off debt, et c and noone will refinance me because I make only $1900 a month and have this mortgage with a $1650/month payment on my credit!! I have called and begged my dad to get my stepmom (who lives out of state now) to refinance and he said they’d “think about it if I wanted to be a part of their family.” I’m not even interested–I’m married now, have a son on the way, and just want to be able to have good credit so my husband and I can get a house one day!!! What are my options? I’m sure I will be having to hire a lawyer, but I don’t know where to begin or how I could even afford that. Does a lawyer specializing in this expect money up front? Will I be suing my stepmom to remove my name from the mortgage? I never received any benefit monetarily from this property–not even tax write-off or whatever a house gives you. Help!!

    • Anonymous says:

You can talk to a lawyer. Odds are you are a co-signer on a mortgage, have given up your interest in the property, and the only way you will be released from the mortgage is if they re-finance, or if the bank agrees to release you; and that never happens.

Unfortunatly; and I think you already know it; unless the lawyer can make a compelling case for a judge to have you removed from the mortgage by a re-fi, you are screwed here.
