Stop Smoking Canada - An Information Guide On Stop Smoking Aids In Canada

Author: Peter Finch

It can be said that Canada is among the first countries that became fully aware of the viciousness of the smoking habit. The government has spent millions of dollars just to make the average Canadian aware of this vice and to make an effort to become a smoke-free country. Canada was one of the first countries to introduce the concept of smoke-free and smoke-restricted zones. Apart from that, Canada has led an intensive awareness program through advertising on television, radio, the print media and billboards.

If you are a Canadian citizen and want to stop smoking Canada provides you with many opportunities. The most evident are the various support centers for smoking cessation. Canadian smoking centers work with small groups of people - eight to twelve - all of whom are are different stages with their smoking habit. There are frequent meetings of these groups, where different treatment options are discussed, and people who have managed to do well in quitting their habits are lauded. This is a good morale-boosting experience and gives smokers the feeling that they are not working alone.

Smoke cessation groups belonging to the Stop Smoking Canada program are very particular about keeping up with people on their program. Apart from the regular meetings, they also follow-up with telephonic conversations. Smokers who are undergoing severe withdrawal symptoms are free to call up smoke cessation professionals, who will then guide them what they must do to keep up with the habit. Such programs are very effective and helpful to the person who is planning to quit.

Most smoking cessation programs in Canada follow the cold turkey method rather than giving up one at a time. Cold turkey methods work here only because of the tremendous support given to the smoker who wishes to quit - both by the government and by the healthcare professionals. Along with the continual therapeutic sessions, antidepressants such as Wellbutrin and Chantix are prescribed to the quitters. General guidelines to improve lifestyle are also delineated.

Even in Canada - like in the US - alternative methods for smoking cessation are used in a major way. For people who want to stop smoking Canada provides a very good range of herbal products. Most of the herbal remedies used in Canada for smoke cessation act as antidepressants as well as detoxifying agents. These help the smokers to curb their addiction as well as repair whatever damage has occurred in their body already. These herbs create distaste for nicotine in the cigarette, which is a very effective way to curb the smoking addiction.

One smoke cessation herbal remedy that is very popular in Canada is SmokeRX, a careful combination of several herbs. It is a very fast acting agent, and takes the person away from the smoking habit in a few short days itself. Most orders for SmokeRX and other herbal remedies in Canada are placed online, though quite a few of them are also readily available in stores.

Hence, there are many ways to stop smoking that Canada provides. If the smoker has determination and diligence, then there are several resources available here to come out successfully from the addiction.

If Canada Health & Welfare is so concerned about smoking,?
Then why is it that they are not taking steps like including discount rates to buy helping aids towards quiting smoking?
Instead of wasting money on unless adds and stupid pictures on the back of packages.

(Just put coupons on the back towards any helping aid to quit)

Do the Ontario,Canada ministry of health offer free stop smoking aids to smokers?
I believe the ministry offers fre needle exchange and methadone treatment for addicts .Is this same sort of support offered to smokers who wish to quit? For the record, I don’t smoke, I’m jusrt curious. Thanks to all who reply.
Sorry about the typo, it should read Does the Ontario Ministry of Health and Longterm care…….
EDIT to Idesiremoonlight, what you say about helping the smoker to stop smoking would be very helpful. The ministry has programs to assist drug addicts ( needle exchange…..not quitting, just providing clean needles…why not the same standard as smokers…stop the addiction not enable it.I am really thinking the government can’t afford to lose the tax revenue from cigerette sales and any health concens involving the smoker is secondary at best.

Well if a person is admitted, the physician may order the nicoderm patches. This cost is covered. while they are in hospital at least. It is a start so to speak. As for what the government will provide upon discharge i don’t know.
However it would be more pro-active on the part of the government if they had some service such as this. This could also be a platform perhaps to use in the next election period. If they want to ban smoking in all locations etc, then they should provide the support to help the smoker fascillitate this process.
      Hope this helps

    Loss of erection during sex?
I am a 17 year old male. I was a virgin until just recently. About a week ago I was with my girlfriend and one thing led to another and we began to have unprotected sex. I was only in her for about two minutes when I noticed my erection started to decrease. Pretty soon it had gone completely flaccid. This upset me a lot. Then last night we tried again but the same thing happened again after only like two minutes. Now while I’m asking my question I’ll ask this question as well, My girlfriend is about to have her period when we had sex (both times unprotected). How likely is she to get pregnant cause shes worried she might be. I did not ejaculate into her, however, I think a fair bit of pre-ejaculate got into her. Now back to my other question, why is my penis going soft when I begin to have intercourse? I don’t think a 17 year old should be having this problem. I like to think I’m very fit and healthy, however I have been smoking a fair bit of marijuana recently. I am thinking this is perhaps due to stress. I have been driven from my home and I have been renting in the city with my brother. He is trying to kick me out because I can’t afford to live there. I am trying my best as I’ve been working full-time and going to school. But to work full-time I have to work very late and sometimes won’t get off work until 1:30 a.m. which doesn’t give me a lot of sleep when I have to be up by six for school. Which isn’t good cause I’m a very heavy sleeper and I’ll be so tired that my alarm clock will sound but will not wake me. This has caused me to miss a fair bit of classes and now because of the absences I have been kicked out of school and will have to try next semester at those classes again which means I will be a super-senior. I can not go back to my parents home and if my brother kicks me out I will have nowhere to go cause I don’t think anyone will rent to me cause I’m still 17. Also I had an accident recently which will set me back very far financially which is horrible cause after paying rent, car insurance, bills, groceries, and gas in my truck, I’ll be flat broke every month. This doesn’t leave me a lot of money, or time for that matter, to do stuff with my friends and girlfriend. I am under a lot of stress and its ruining my life. I think I may have an anxiety disorder because of it. Another question, is there some sort of government plan or something where the government can aid me financially (I live in Alberta, Canada). So now back to my penis, do you think its related to the stress, the smoking weed (I only do this to relieve stress and I’m going to quit), the anxiety, or perhaps nervousness. I’ve never had sex before then, or a girlfriend for that matter and I think I’m too conscious about my performance in bed and I start to feel nervous and then frustrated when my erection starts to drop. I just want to live a normal life and be able to have a healthy relationship with my girlfriend.
Also, I find that I’m depressed all the time. I don’t want to be, but I can’t help it. I find that the only time I’m ever happy is when I’m with my girlfriend. Could this be a reason for it? Its not like i begin to think about these things during sex. I just start thinking about the sex and my erection will start to go away.
Perhaps another cause for this is fatigue. I get very little sleep and am working a lot. i still have to go to school in the morning cause i’m still in gym and drama and i need the credits, but I was kicked out of the core classes that i needed. And i like to pick up my girlfriend and drive her to school too.

“So now back to my penis” lol

Sounds like your just over thinking it. Unprotected? In this day and age? Dude, it’s time to take responsibility for your shit, you’re at that age where doing dumb things can actually mess up your life and you sound like a thoughtful guy so pull it together. Wearing a condom will probably relieve a large portion of your stress, and don’t worry too much about your performance, girls your age don’t know what good sex is yet lol, she probably isn’t exactly pwning your bed either so have fun.

I just want to be able to satisfy her and feel good about myself. I don’t want to feel stressed about it either, the stress is tearing me apart and i recently found out that I have severe bruxism because of it.
