Good idea for a Halloween costume?
So Halloween is coming up soon and I’ve waited until the last minute to come up with an idea for a costume. I’m a poor college student and I’m on a tight budget so I can’t really afford to buy a costume. I was thinking of wearing my purple and black trim smoking jacket so I could be Hugh Hefner. I also have a pipe that I could carry around. My roommates are girls and they’re both dressing slightly provocatively so I could walk around campus with them to up the “pimp” image. Haha. Either that or I’m considering going as the Joker, I have a dark purple suit jacket and I could apply some face paint and dye my hair. I can’t pick between the two. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a good costume for me, be sure to actually smoke the pipe like Hugh as well.

Ok so theirs this guy at work and as soon as I met him we started flirting and even made up pet names for each other. Once we were flirting in the break room and he said he didn’t work with each other for the whole next week and we would have to go a week with out seeing each other. He hugged me and promised we’d hand out. We ended up going out on a date three days later, he payed for everything dinner and a movie he even walked me to my door and hugged me good night. He didn’t call me but I asked if he was going to go see a movie screening that was planned for all the people at our work he said ok even know I know he doesn’t like the movie that was going to be shown I was so excited and was devastated when he canceled an hour before the movie. We didn’t really text each other much for a couple days after that but then we ended up working together and flirted hardcore when we got of work we continued flirting online and he asked if I wanted to hangout right then (it was 12am) I said I couldn’t because it was a Thursday night and I had an essay to write for the next morning so we made plans for halloween night. He picked me up after work on halloween it was really late so we went to this scenic look out we cuddled for a while he gave me his jacket when I got cold and then we just talked. His phone rang and I asked if he was going to get it he said why would I answer my phone when I’v got a hot date like you and he leaned in and we made out for a very long time every time his phone kept wringing the kiss just got more and more intense. We ended up getting food and kissed at every red light on the way to my house. Then we made out again at my door step. The night went really well he texted me in the morning and we flirted about the plans we made for that night I go to work and when I check my phone after my shift he texted me saying he had to cancel! This is our second date he’s canceled and im really starting to worry. I don’t know if im worried because that make-out session was my very first kiss but this is the second time he’s canceled and im really hurt I was looking forward to our date SO much.
Im 17 and he’s 20 and when im away from him he’s the only thing on my mind. I love him sooo much and it hurts to be away from him I know it sounds cheesy. Is he taking advantage of me or does he genuinely care about me? We talked about some pretty deep stuff but when I asked if we were dating he said were friends who have been on dates, whats that supposed to mean? He is honestly a great guy although he does pot and smokes I just dont know what to think.
He may not be using you. At least he’s spending some time with you, and didnt seem eager to get you in bed.
What i think could be happening is that he may have other girls he’s talking to at the same time, but this is normal in most cases.. most guys always have different girls they re talking to UNTIL they decide which one makes them feel great and then they weave out the others and focus on one person, so i say its still soon, give it time, dont seem needy or clingy, however its not fair that he’s canceling dates like that. If he does it the 3rd time, give him a lot of space, stay busy on your own (it may be hard) for about 2 or 3 weeks and act like you re really busy, that will give him a message that you have your own life and will not wait around on him

Is my friend a hipster?
He listens to acoustic indie music that I’ve never heard of. He’s going to art school in NYC and wanted to do film but now wants to become a graphic artist. He’s always wearing MTV/American Apparel t shirts, a Gap military jacket, a scarf, skinny jeans, and Converse and he claims to have his own “style.” He has a beard. He swears by his Macbook Pro and has an interest in graffiti and all around “urban” art. He takes black and white pictures. Some people think he’s gay but I doubt it, he’s just kind of feminine and hasn’t had a steady girlfriend. He doesn’t have a job but he has a lot of nice things. He’s always making music/movies/random stuff in Photoshop and saying that it sucks but at the same time suggests that he’s really talented. He participates in musical theater. He was voted “biggest gossip” at our high school. Instead of going to the beach for senior week like everyone else, he wants to go camping. He was Pac Man for halloween. He also really likes Where The Wild Things Are and Juno.
BUT, he DOESN’T wear sweaters or short shorts or glasses, drink PBR, smoke, do crack, wear makeup, ride a fixed gear bike, have weird or dyed hair, or have any piercings or tattoos. He is never seen with neon colors and he doesn’t really stand out much at all. He’s not very ironic and he stays pretty clean. He also hangs out with people who I know aren’t hipsters, but they are kind of annoying.
…So, I’m not sure. What do you think? Is he a hipster?
at first I was gonna say pseudo-intellectual (maybe he really is), but it seems like he’s one of those artsy-fartsy types that tries too hard to be different. to be noticed.
just let him be, when he gets older he’ll stop all that madness and actually be himself.
