When does the smoking ban in France start?
Not soon enough.
Signed
Miss J of Arc
the effect of the smoking ban in france?
Has it made a difference do you think? what else could be done to get rid of smoking in france?
Just wanted to precise that smoking is still allowed in restaurants and bars, it is only banned from such public places as: airports, train stations, work places, schools and etc. There are certain restaurants that have decided to personally ban smoking from their establishments, but I certainly have yet to see the same ban in bars / clubs.
The French still seem to smoke as much as they have before, they just now smoke outside. The result is there are a lot more cigarette butts on the ground than before, since the businesses force their workers to go out but don’t bother putting ashtrays by the enterance.
Apparently starting February 1st, 2008 smoking will also be banned from restaurants and bars, however, I personally doubt that this law will be followed to the letter.
with Germany and France having the smoking ban do you think they will riot?
No, because most of the French and Germans are ignoring the ban. Unlike the UK, the population of France and Germany don’t take too kindly to having their civil liberties messed with and most of them are prepared to break the rules. It’s just a shame that majority of UK residents are sad, gutless plebians who aren’t prepared to stand up for their rights, which is why we always end up with the Government we deserve.
Does anyone have any opinions about the Smoking Ban in France??
How do you feel about it good or bad? Reflect
i think it’s great. people shouldn’t be allowed to smoke in places that at public. in fact i think smoking should be banned altogether, made illegal. it’s so bad for humans, or there should be at least an age, like for alcohol.
Smoking Ban in France: How’s it going?
I hate cigarette smoke – but I love France.
I just wondered if anyone could tell me how the smoking ban is going for BARS and RESTAURANTS.
It is going very well. I can now go in restaurants and cafes I didn’t dare enter before and go to dancing clubs as well without chocking to death. I can also now have a non smoking table which is not at the back of the restaurant or next to the kitchen or the toilets (the best seats somehow were always smoking) breathing in the cigarette smoke wafting from the front. People are getting used to it, those who want to smoke and eat seat outside. Those smokers who politely didn’t light up inside continue to seat inside and light up once outside. Which is what I did when I was a smoker.
The only places threatened by the ban are those places offering water pipes to their clients, as this is the basis of their service they are fighting to have a dispensation to the smoking ban.
