What is the best kind of lighter to use when smoking a pipe?
I’ve tried matches, they dont work so well for me, i guess. So, im looking for a good brand of lighter to use. i would prefer non-piezo (electric/butane torch)
Get a zippo with the pipe lighter insert, it is a little different than a regular zippo.

A while back, I asked a question about capturing methane gas from cows to use as alternative energy and got some Ha Ha, Ho Ho answers, some were suggesting insterting plumbing parts into cows etc. Pacific Gas and Electric is doing this on a very large scale and it is working amazing well, with nothing inserted in cows, put that in your pipe and smoke it! The same pipe you wanted to insert in the cows! Ha!
With no insult intended; I so often wonder what better ways one might spend time than to ask “spoofy”??? Obviously we NEED viable alternatives to the current situations.
Some issues certainly, in this example; might be smell; logistics; methods used; IE: Carrying a cow around in the back of my pickup; disposal of all that isn’t GAS; etc. etc. etc.
I used to MILK cows; and I cannot imagine their displeasure at having “PLUMBING” installed.
In being mildly addicted to shows such as “The Universe” on the History channel; I suspect I don’t want to live in; and probably wouldn’t last long; in a World that experienced or burned off high levels of Methane. I’ve grown so used to the current pollutants; but don’t know if I could absorb many more.
Beyond all that however; are the impracticalities for small time operations using methane. Certainly someone can come up with a way to simply “Burn” AIR or WATER to power our society. Oh wait,,,that’s been attempted,,,but the CRUDE OIL lobbyists, politicians, and GREED merchants; still control our modes of/or motivation; in that regard.
Getting a chirping noise from my electric hot water heater.?
Noise is intermitent notice some water a small drip coming out of expansion pipe. What is causing this, sounds like the chirp of a smoke detector.
sounds like t&p valve is leaking, check water pressure w/gauge, available at home depot or hardware store, pressure should be under 75, t&p valves are preset at factory to open fully at 150 psi, they will open at 140, if high pressure has been on valve for a while they will chirp at 120, you may also need a thermal expansion tank if check valve installed at meter or elsewhere
Water and electric dont mix!?
In July a trench was dug up outside of my house in the front street for repairs to electric cables. The hole was left for 2wks and heavy rainfall resulted in this hold being filled with water.This was eventually sorted but one morning around 7am I awoke and discovered the electric was off and there was a vibrating and buzzing sound under the ground of my sitting room (nearest to the front street). I looked out of the window and saw smoke arising from the road! The fire brigade evacuated me and my neighbours either side. That was in August and we havent had so much as an apology. I forgot about this and got on with life after the birth of my daughter.
On Tuesday 4th Nov some more work has been done resulting in a 22 ft trench outside of my home. This also ended up being filled with rain water. After some advice from the lovely people of Yahoo answers, this has now been fixed. This work was undertaken by Balflour Beatty.
Although the work is now done, I’ve discovered that the reason for the incident on 3 August is because the original work done in july didnt have a resin seal around the electric cable, therefore meaning that the cable wasnt water tight. Even I know that water and electric dont mix!
I beleive that after what happened on 3rd August me and my family are lucky to be alive because the fire underground could have damanged the gas pipe (which is very close to the electric cable!) thus resulting in a tragedy. Also, because the gas and electric cables were exposed again last week, I feel that this left my family vulnerable again!
I’ve managed to get a meeting with a regional manager and super visor tomorrow. What should I ask for ? what would you do ? I’ve spoken to the community leavl advise team who referred me to a solicitor but when i called the solicitors for an appointment and outline my story they said they were unable to help me !! What do I do ? These people are coming to visit me tomorrow.

Go in with a list of questions you want them to answer and ask them for an explanation for the problem in August.
You want an apology and maybe you could ask for compensation as you feel your family was put at risk by the company.
