I take a lot medications due to my health and I have no energy left. Is there anything I can to boost me up?
I have 4 cervical spine hernias, I suffer from asthma, I just quit smoking and I have lost all my energy. I drag my feet. All I want to do is sleep. Is that normal? I want to get my energy back. Is there anything I can do, or take? I am on morphyne (as a pain killer, and Paxil 10 mg because I am going through a depression, Advair for asthma, and Champix to quit smoking. I think that is quite a lot. Also, I need also my night time sleeping pills – Nitrozepam). I am sure this cocktail of drugs is the reason, but what can I do? I am like a vegetable. Some advise will be much appreciated.
Drugs are excellent. We go to the Doc and he prescribed 5mgs of Valium to take at night before bed, so you do. Then you do not wake up the following day, or night, but the day after! Therefore I split the pill in half and it worked. I then saw my Doc and stated, can I reduce the dose to 2.5mgs? He screamed ‘NO!’ Then added, they only do 2mgs, so I have been on it since. I have found that while they do prescribe drugs, the dosage may not be what we really need, they tend to over dose, make sure they get it right. Therefore, I always start a new drug at the lowest dose and if I need more can increase it. We are not all clones, what dose works for me might not work for you and so on. Therefore you can try it yourself, see if you can locate a balance, if not ask your Doc. Glad to report I am now wide awake, at least for 8 hours a day and am always on the go, walk three miles three times a week, do the grocery shopping, drive to Hospitals, four hour drive and so on. Best of Luck
champix.the stop smoking pill?
hi has anyone tried the champix tablet. supposed to help u quit smoking after 12 weeks. would like to no ur opinions and have u had any side affects.
Yes, works well. Just vivid dreams, some nausea after I took the pill, and I lost some inhibitions, e.g., if I saw a fattening food I wanted I’d just buy it. I gather that most people are OK with it but some people have serious or unpleasant side effects, like depression or serious nausea.
will my cigarette cravings ever go away?
i started taking a new drug called “champix” 5 weeks ago. it makes you quit smoking because after the first week of taking the pills, cigarettes taste gross and you can’t physically finish one because of the taste. fine and good, i haven’t had a cigarette for a month now, so i should be happy right? no. the drug also makes alcohol and caffeine taste gross too. so i can’t have a smoke, a beer or a coffee any more without feeling nauseous. this sucks. my whole life is different.i wish i was still smoking because i was happier. does that make sense?
I think the medication you are referring to is Chantix (varenicline), which is a medication for smoking cessation.
Its possible that your coffee use and Alcohol use are both tied with your smoking experiences in the past, which is the case with most smokers I have come in contact with. However there is not clinical data to support this phenomenom.
The side effects you are having with alcohol and caffeine might just be temporary. It isn’t listed as a side effect on any of my pharmacy school sources.
If the medication therapy is causing you issues in your life I would recomend speaking with your pharmacist. Most local pharmacies are well trained in a number of alternatives for smoking cessation.
Whatever you do, don’t start smoking again. You are already past the hardest part, to go back now would just mean that you would eventually try to stop again.
champix :reasons why doctors wont give tablets?
i have wanted to quit smoking for quite a while now but im very stressed out daily so i wont be quitting by myself and patches or gum never worked for me.
my doctor said i have to go to a hospital so i can get those stop smoking pills champix ,but why cant i just get them from my practitioner , why must i go to some stinking hospital?
my cousin and uncle went ALL the way to greece just to get their hands on some champix pills and they are absolutely fine no health problems and they both quit smoking .
so what im asking is what sort of health problems might a patient have which makes a doctor reluctant to give champix.
Well I suppose the doc knows best, he has your full medical history to make decisions on.
There are reports of suicide etc which is the main side effect that is concerning everybody with this drug.
However I’ve been taking Champix and to me it feels like a mild anti-depressant, I’ve had better and brighter moods since taking it.
Everybody is different, minds are more complex than bodies and drugs that change your mind like Champix will work very differently in different people … unlike simple drugs like anti-biotics which tend to be universally safe and don’t have mind related side effects.
Champix must be a very powerful drug. When I took my first 0.5mg dose, my whole outlook on life changed. In my case for the better, it’s the wonder drug I’ve been waiting for, but for some I imagine that powerful mind effect goes in the wrong direction.
